Uberlanders - Back in the Aluminum Saddle Again
For those of you who know us, you know we have been quite silent over the last 19 months. Our Lady of Aluminum has been ignored like the family dog when the new baby is born. Well, Cady has been a little ignored too, but at least she gets walked. We thought of our forum friends this weekend as we boondocked up the end of the Entiat River Road. Perfect weather to take out the old girl, the new girl, and the new/old tow vehicle.
Here are a few shots of our trip.
PS to Janet....I know, I know, I didn't feel like photoshopping the blue tanks out of the shot.

Hey Kathleen! Good to see you getting the little 'un out under the stars. She's grown a lot since I last checked your blog. You've got a winner there and have prioritized things just right. Keep checking back in, okay?

Long time no hear! Nice pics and highly cute kid but the beast is looking resigned to a fate of crayons and kid food.
How was your summer?

Hello and welcome back. Kids and Airstreams mix very well together. Sometimes better than we realize. My two year old loves to go and will proudly show you her bed and her drawers. Good for you getting your child out there.

The summer was great, thanks. We really wanted to go up to the Region One Rally in the Maritimes but the rally was at the same time that the German cousins came to visit.
By the way, Jim is getting a little jealous....no one has mentioned how cool the new tow vehicle is.

Welcome back!
Kathleen, the tow vehicle was the first thing I noticed, mainly because it's face is very close to our '65 Burb!
Glad you had a great time camping.

Okay, we can talk about the truck, too. Is it a '63, or '64? What engine is in it? Is it an automatic or manual? Does it have power steering or paower brakes? Have y'all done any upgrades to it?

Its a 64, straight 6, manual, no power brakes or steering. No upgrades. Jim is trying to keep her the way she was meant to be.

The Saab is running and Jim had the seats upholstered. Still hasn't taken it to any Vintage Saab rallies yet. We did go to the Maryhill Hill Vintage Hill Climb in May. That was a treat!
