Lots of great tips here. Thanks for posting klstraka. We too have had the problem. Now we have a checklist next to the door including:
1. Turn off the pump, remove sink drain and place a rubber band around the faucet and handle. I need to do the other suggestions:
2. Soften pump sounds: replacing PEX with food-grade hoses, cushion under the pump and install an accumulator.
3. Nomad's recommendation when washing hands, pressurize system, then turn pump off and wash hands. It's too easy to forget when making a quick stop while traveling.
4. Turn shower head to low output
5. Turn off city water when not in use, or don't connect it. (I treat electric the same way)

Pump and gets turned off:
- Going down the road
- Leaving the trailer unattended for any length of time. This is also done with the city water hookup.

Those of you who have rattling pipes or noisy pumps need to get the air purged from the lines, get and accumulator and insulate the piping and pump. I barely hear the pump in our trailer.
It seems silly though to turn the pump off and on while you are camping and using the on board water. At home we have a cistern pump we don't flip a switch each time we need water. It does get turned off if we are away from the house for a few days.
