Trip Report: Monument Valley, AZ/UT

Here's a detailed report/article on a recent trip we made to Monument Valley in our '72 Sovereign.

Mello Mike's Wolf Creek Camper and Boondocking Blog: Travelogue: Monument Valley, AZ/UT Border

Would love to get some reports from those who went on one of the tours offered.

Thanks for the Memories

A few of us made separate trips through Monument Valley after an Airstream Rally at the North Rim. Does this look familiar? Without planning it, we all met at Gouldings.

Monument Valley

Mike:

We have done the self drive tour and two guided tours, and recommend both. The guided tours went to different sites both times, so you probably should inquire regarding their itinerary.

Great trip and camping blog, Mike. You have given us some great trip ideas. We are also truck campers. We even pull our Airstream with as truck camper. We like to say that we travel with two bedrooms, two baths, and a beer fridge.

Yessir, that looks familiar. I was not at the North Rim, but did pull into Gouldings that afternoon, and when I got back from dinner there was all these trailers which had pulled in. Great folks!

Cool, Brian. It's great to see other truck campers here on the Forums. What year is your outfitter? Are you on RV.NET? Come to mention it, I think I remember seeing on some other forum, just don't remember which one.

I love Truck Campers, too. There are simply too many places way out in the Boonies that I would never take my '58 Overlander. It's nice to have options. Especially, while I restore my '58.

The Outfitter is a 2011 model. We just picked it up in Longmont, Colorado, in September. We have already been into the back country in Wyoming and Maine with the truck camper. We tow the Airstream with the the truck camper. We set up a base camp with the Airstream and venture off into the wilderness with the truck camper for a day or two at a time. It sure is nice to have the flexibility to spend the night wherever we want.

Yes, I am on RV.NET and NATCOA.COM as moosetags.
