Posting more photos is not a matter of time or inclination. I have received excellent tutorials from members on this forum regarding posting pictures. No matter, what I do, no matter the size of the photo, I have been unable to post more than one photo at a time, and uploading photos takes forever. Wifi may be the issue, not sure. I post photos on another forum and have no issues. As for using photobucket, or other sites, not interested.

As for size, when I have reviewed what has been posted, if I click on the photo, it is enlarged without distortion....I assume others can do the same.

I don't want to turn this into a photo posting thread. We are at a site where we have decent wifi and as stated earlier, I hope to catch up on posting.

Glad you enjoy the thread.

Hi John - When I read the earlier post asking about images. My first thought was how the poster was not understanding the uploading issues with crappy internet access - I'm sure that is the case here.

The thought of using a service like photobucket would not make any difference other than make it even harder because your dealing with a larger image. You still have to get the darn thing to upload. It does not matter where your uploading to.....

Good luck with the continuation of your trip and just wanted you to know that I have enjoyed your posts all summer.

Well done

Cheers
Doug

Thanks Doug, glad the thread is of interest and of help to those who are seeking info. Still working on the photo issue, they simply are not uploading. Will try again tonight.

Meanwhile, if Cow Head is not on your itinerary, I recommend you add it. We are at Sea Breeze B&B and RV Park. Eight full hookup sites right on the water, level, well spaced and the host are super. We walked to the dinner theatre one night and enjoyed "Newfoundland Vinyl", all NL musicians/singers, and quite good. Fifteen minute drive to Western Pond and Broom Point Fishing Exhibit and the hikes in the area. We also hiked around Green Point which has great rock formations and lots of fossils. Stopped by the shipwreck site of the SS Effie, for history's sake, and walked along Steve's Trail which leads to some great coastline views. Back at Cow Head, there are some great hikes along the peninsula, including a jaunt up to the smallest light house I have seen. Actually we just returned from kayaking around the "Point Head" which was about two-three miles.
We talk and visit with as many Newfoundlanders as possible and we share a favorite word. NOTE: THIS IS NOT A SWEAR WORD....it is used as a noun, verb, adjective, and exclamation!!! ****(s)....it is used unabashedly, by women, children, and the women...and never have I interpreted it as a swear word. My newfie is getting better!!!
More later...and hopefully some pictures.

Whales at St Vincent. Some of these guys were 15' off the beach. Must have been 20-30 of them.

Second photo shows the Caplin at St Vincent.

Sorry this is the second , still only one loads.

This a picture of the statute at Gander, "The Silent Witness". It memorializes the crash of an airliner that killed 256 101st Airdorne Division soldiers returning from a peacekeeping mission in 1985 from Egypt. We served with the Screaming Eagles for five plus years and I served with a couple of those soldiers. It was an important stop for us. There is a duplicate of this statute at Ft Campbell KY, facing NL.
If you get a chance, stop and pay a visit.

This was our camp site at the Mary March Wilderness Park, about four KM's past Buchans Junction. We were right on the Red Indian River and a great place to kayak and just relax.

Here is a photo of the Gander International Airport Passenger Terminal. It is really neat, also has a great bar. Photo does not due it justice, we were concentrating on the mural...IMO, detracts from the terminal.

Is the collection of letters from those that landed there on 9/11 still on display?

This looks like a complete makeover from when we were there.

Not sure if they are at the airport....I know they had many on display at the Aviation Museum, which is another great stop.

Hiking the cliffs at Green Point. Great rock formations and lots of fossils. There is a very nice campground at Green Point, full disclosure, we did not stay there, just visited as an option.

Very poor wifi at present, will post more photos later.

Anyone camped near Roddickton or Englee? Met a local couple who said just go down and camp anywhere there is a spot. We are headed that way for a couple days.
