Trailer Wash Water with JetDry?
Greetings all;
I'm just checking in to see if anyone has any experience with putting "JetDry" into your wash water to eliminate hard water marks?
We try to keep our trailer as clean a we can even when we're on the road. So options to washing are always of interest.
Thanks in advance for any input
cheers
Doug

I’m on well water that’s kind of hard. I put a little Jet-dry in the wash water. I don’t know how much it helps since I just rinse without it. But, it can’t hurt.

This might be good to see if anyone has used this procedure. I live in the Phoenix area and have very hard water. The storage lot has de mineralize water at the RV wash. I use that and then dry with rags.

I would try in the rinse water. If you use in the wash water, you will be rinsing it off with the rinse water. I think that you would want the Jet Dry to stay on the outer surface of your AS. Jet Dry is a silcone coating that reduces the surface tension of the water on things in your dishwasher, so that droplets of water slide off your dishes and hopefully reduce spoting.
I use a windshield washer fluid that contains silcone to do the same thing for my windshield. It works well.
Cheers,
John

Thanks John I should have said rinse water in the original post as that’s what I meant.
Thanks again for your input

Great idea
I am not sure what you mean by put it in the rinse water and I am assuming that you are putting it in a bucket and then using that with a brush to like rewash the trailer. Maybe you mean something else, but I just had a thought of putting it in a hose end sprayer bottle and then adjust it for the correct ratio and hose it down.
Thanks for the idea!

I wonder if anyone has used a garden sprayer with Jet Dry or windshield washer diluted with water and sprayed on the Airstream as a final rinse. This is the process used at a car wash as a spot free rinse.

We love GEL-GLOSS wash and wax from Camping World. It's a pink gel that washes and waxes our trailer keeping it looking new and shiny. I put a glob of it into the wash bucket, wet the trailer and wash a section at a time with the RV brush rinsing a section at a time. No water spots!
Happy trials y'all.

I tried calling Jet Dry customer support to ask how many Oz per gallon but they said since there were no instructions on the label for use other than using it in a dishwasher she was no help. I did some other thinking and I am open to criticism too. The container indicates that 16 oz does 150 dishwasher loads. The average dishwasher uses between 4 and 6 gallons of water. I assume that 1/2 (2or3) gallons is for rinse and the other 1/2 is wash. This is only a guess. So 16 Oz divide 150 washes divide by 2.5 gallons equals very little I am going to try 1/2t per gallon as a final rinse.

JetDry
I have used JetDry when washing my airstream and cars. I put it in the wash water and found that it greatly reduced water spotting. It does not do as well on clear coated alum.
