Towing mirrors

I have a toyota tundra pick up truck and plan on towing a 25 ft. airstream. Any recommendations on what mirrors to buy for my truck?

Buy a pair of Toyota OEM from Sparks Toyota online. Only downside is if you have base model Tundra you only have enough wires for mirror adjustment but not heater or side directional light. I think if you have more expensive Tundra you will have proper wiring harness for all features to work. I went to the Toyota dealer where I bought my Tundra and they matched Sparks Internet price. Saved me several hundred dollars off the OEM retail price

The Eagle Vision tow mirrors are a reasonable choice. Better than the clip-ons or slip-ons IMHO.

I purchased OEM tow mirrors from Sparks on my 2010 Tundra SR5 Double Cab. I used a youTube video to show me how to install the mirrors myself.

I really like my McKesh tow mirrors. Very easy to put on and take off. You can get used ones on eBay from time to time.

For the past eight years, I have been using tow mirrors that mount directly to the standard mirror face. I originally bought these at Camping World. They now sell them at Wal-Mart for $20. I have two of these mirrors, but I almost always just use the driver side mirror.

When I first got Old Lucy ten years ago, I bought a set of McKesh Towing Mirrors. I found them very time consuming to mount and adjust, and they didn't work very well for me. They were also very large to store. When I found the good mirrors, I sold the McKesh mirrors on the Forums Classifieds.

What I really like about the mirrors that I have been using is that they are fully adjustable from inside the tow vehicle.

Here are a couple of photos of my towing mirrors.

I looked at those, but have never had much luck with suction cups. No worries about them falling off? Vibration?

I have had the same two mirrors for about eight years. They have never fallen off. They do have a tether that wraps around the mirror. I have probably driven over 150,000 miles with these mirrors attached. They are not attached with plain suction cups. The suction cup on these mirror are cranked tight with a screw-down. They do not vibrate at all they are as steady as the the tow vehicle mirrors.

I'll have to take another look at those then. The right side of my McKesh won't stay adjusted right.

Go with a rearview camera. More money but well worth it IMO. I got one and never looked back.

Yes, pun intended.

One note about the Toyota OEM mirrors is the lack of vibration and the ability to push them in when not towing. And you don't have to worry about installing them every trip.

Anyone know of an OEM towing mirror that fits 2012 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 trucks? I could sure use a set to replace the crappy aftermarket mirrors I struggle with.

I have a set of Longview towing mirror for my Tundra. I had a set of the ones like Moosetags uses but due to where I had to stick them onto the Tundra mirror I always had a bad blind spot (but I keep one in my tool box as a spare). The Longviews slide over the factory mirrow and attach very securely in just a few seconds. Been towing for 3 years and find them very satisfactory. Here is a link to etrailer where I bought mine: Longview Custom Towing Mirrors - Slip On - Driver and Passenger Side Longview Custom Towing Mirrors LVT-1800
