Towing advice in the area of Afton, Virginia

Can anyone give a consultation on towing a trailer in the area of Afton Virginia this Saturday or Sunday? We are on our way to pick it up with our distribution bar that will need to be installed. Cell 732-604-8374.

If you’re going to Afton, VA and the Nellie’s Ford area of Virginia, you should know about “Trailer Buff Inc.” They restore old Airstreams. They can help, but call first because they usually close on Saturdays and Sundays.
732 Rockfish School Lane.
Afton, VA 22920
Tel.: (434) 361-2500

Also there is a couple that run a Thai and Mexican café in Nellie’s Ford that have an Airstream trailer. Good Luck and tell us your experience.

If your pickup takes place somewhere up on the mountain, you are in great shape, it is a down hill slide. If not and depending on the grunt of your tv, it can be a high rpm, low gear climb - we've had years of experience climbing that hill hauling horses. More of a concern would be if the mountain is socked in with fog. Then you'll need to depend on the "landing lights" that border the road. If can be hard to see anything much in front of you, so I'd go verrrrryyyyy slowly with your four ways flashing. Good luck! Jack

Thank You all so much for your e-mails and calls. We made it off the property with no hitch. Although it was up a hill on a wet grass our TV did just fine. Made it safely to Bear Creek Lake State Park. Not many Rv's here, guess it's off season even thou we've hit 80's for the past 3 days.
