Tires . A Little Light Humor

OK, So I get a daily email with forum topics and the content is always very informative, and sometimes entertaining. I also get the Airstream Classified e-mail daily and see interesting things that folks have done to their rigs. I sometimes can hear the comments in my mind from the forums when I look at the AS ads.

Here's an example:

1962 Avian Silver Streak H24. The outside is dull and dirty and has a few dents but has never leaked. Almost everything in it and on it is original including the awning with poles, all of the locks and keys, storm windows and the brochures and manuals. The tile floor and birchwood cabinets are in very good used but not abused condition. She even still has the original tires including the spare with the fiberglass cover.

I heard a lot of heads being scratched after that last sentence... No offence to the poster, it was worth sharing.

I'll bet by now those tires look like something Fred Flintstone used on his "car".

The more of this kind of thingI read about the more I understand the world and the shape it is in...!

Maybe it was used in a single location and was never towed?

Wow!

Tires that old ought to be selling points. Back then, many tires were made with natural rubber made from rubber tree sap, not synthetic rubber made from petroleum.

Tires

Just wanted to touch on this one. Having owned a tire shop for 30 yrs I thought I heard and seen it all. I to have see first hand what "some" people try to squeeze out of tires. I'll keep it short but I've seen the other side of things with customers driving 400K motorhomes with tires 10 yrs old but they still have 50% of tread! I just wished they made a quality trailer tire these days other than all the off shore china doughnuts.

What a wonderfull story. A lot of people would like to see you pull that trailer 500 miles on those tires and then tell us what happened. A lot of people would have to think hard about all the things we read.
