I have friends who have a good experience with Pressure Pro but there is a newer model, available thru Camping World, made by TST which monitors pressure AND temperature. I am leaning there. Does anyone have any expericence with this model?

We've used the Doran 360 for more than a year without a problem.

Check this older thread for more info. There's a new one from Hawkshead mentioned in Post # 116. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f438...tor-38023.html

Five years with Pressure Pros

We're into our fifth year with our Pressure Pros and the little gems have warned us of three tire pressure problems. Any one of these tire issues could have caused damage to the trailer skin or plumbing dump valves had we not taken immediate action. While expensive, we feel that the expense has been a good insurance investment with a one time premium. Good luck.

The Pressure Pro website states that updates are at 5 min intervals.
Does that mean you have to wait five minutes to know if a tire is deflating?

My Pressure Pro system has worked very well. My system gives me both pressure and temperature readings for each tire. Tires do tend to heat up prior to blowing out.

I have had some loss of signal going down the road, so I have now purchased and installed a repeat transmitter in the rear of the rig. I also installed monitors on the tow dolly.

What I really like is not having to check each tire prior to leaving on a trip. I just set in the drivers seat and read them off.

If you are getting false alarms you probably have one or more tires set at a bad threshold.

Tom- no, what it is doing is the same all the monitor units do; the monitor receiver is sending a signal out to the tire monitors to be sure the signal is not lost. The tire monitors send a signal to the receiver whenever a critical threshold is reached. ie low pressure, temp etc.

I was told that Pressure Pro only monitors pressure but not temperature. Is that correct? The reason that I was looking at TST is they monitor both pressure and temperature.

Is there a brand that is really the best? I have heard of Pressure Pro and N Vision but no others? Any input will be appreciated.I recently had a scare due to road debris ruining a tire and don't want to do that again.
jfowler218....I have the Pressure Pro system installed on my 2007 25' Safari FB and 2006 GMC 2500HD truck for two years with 7,200 miles of travel. The system picked up one of my truck tires losing air on Rte 95 in Georgia and gave me enough warning that I was able to find a safe spot to pull off the road. It also picked up a slow leak on one of my trailer tires while parked at a campground. I would not go on the road without my Pressure Pro system. I think that Airstream dealers should activly offer them as a option when purchasing a trailer.

Don't take my post as the final word on this technology since I've only seen the respective adverts and posts about the products here on the web. I just installed a HD system from Hawkshead.

SEMI TRUCK TPMS, RV, MOTORHOME TPMS, COMMERCIAL VEHICLE TPMS, HEAVY EQUIPMENT, BUS, TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEMS

The things that swayed me this direction were price, replaceable sensor batteries, temp monitoring and some favorable indepth research from a friend.

I've only had them out for a single short outing but so far they seem to perform as good or better than advertised. For $408 I got 6 sensors, 6 metal valve stems, the monitor, various mounts AND the optional amp since I have a 34' trailer. At this point I have not installed the amp since they sensors work even with the truck parked 20-30 feet in front of the trailer. I will probably send the amp back for a refund bringing the cost to under $350.

Only time will tell!

I believe the newest version of PressurePros monitor both pressures and temps. We have not upgraded so far... Tire pressures usually rise about 6-8 lbs during driving and that is reflected by the monitors...this is normal. Deflating tires do heat up because there is more flex in the rubber... the temp monitoring is an additional parameter... Owners of older versions can get an upgrade at a discount I am fairly certain (check with whomever you purchased them from).

I talked to the distributor for Pressure Pro today. They now have a model that monitors both temperature and pressure. This is their website Tire Pressure Monitoring System PressurePro. The Pressure Pro is more expensive than the TST model that is carried by Camping World which has only been on the market a few months as I understand. Doran is taking Pressure Pro technology and making it in China. They are currently being sued by Pressure Pro. I'm thinking of buying the Pressure Pro as they have been proven.
