Hi and welcome.
The Search function will give you a potload of information on any topic, but if you're like me, you probably will never fully appreciate all of it's powers.
Here is one that I've gotten a good handle on though.
click SEARCH
Slide down to Google
Enter a string of characters that you're looking for info on
in your case "Thousand Trails"
Then pick your thread and start looking and learning
....
When you want to Share a thread you've found, simply highlight the www.whatever/whatever...
and hit the CTRL and C key simultaneously to COPY the link
go to the place you want to post the thread and click your mouse to get the cursor where you need it to be, then hit CTRL and V to PASTE it.
done
We got a free 1 yr membership when we bought our Airstream. I wasn't impressed enough to join following the end of the period. Most parks are not that nice and the membership for us was only for one area of the country. I prefer state and federal parks. I guess there are some nice parks in their network but they are not the norm.
We bought a membership in 1998 when we bought our first RV and have faithfully paid the annual renewals. In 1998 they were billed as destination resorts (preserves). Now they promote themselves as discount camping spots.
According to a preserve manager that I spoke with last week, a huge amount of deferred maintenance had accrued system wide prior to Equity's purchase of 1000 Trails 5 years ago. We've noticed that most of the "resorts" are quite run down and have had to take on more full time residents to stay afloat. There are exceptions.....barely.
I decide to end our membership last week and not pay the last installment for 2014. We've not stayed in a 1000 Trails this year but were told that our credit rating would still be harmed if we dropped out now.
We've really fallen back in love with KOAs. They've really upped their game over the past few years. Something that we hoped 1000 Trails would have done.

KOA's get a bad rap from some. Hey, I know they're not like staying in a beautiful state park, etc., but, on our recent trip, we probably stayed at 7-8 different KOA's and they were all really nice...not cheap, but good quality RV parks.
