The next Airstream

Tomorrow we pick up our next airstream. After being trailer less, suffering extreme aluminum withdrawal and uncontrollable hitch itch,,,the ordeal is almost at its end. We sold our previous airstream about a year ago after fultimin in it for nearly 1000 days and nights. It was a great trailer that i bought new and i was completely green Never had a moments problem with the trailer...The hitch yes, ....some minor water heater glitches but that was it. Our journey was a 140,000 mile episode of pure fun and enjoyment..

Needed a house, our peabody, english cocker , got cancer and we treated him for a year until he died this past Jan....so being off the road was almost a must for that situation.

So the next airstream is a 2005 28ft International. I am wondering what sort of adventure tomorrow will bring.....

It has been sitting under cover for about a year...PO claims the tires are original???

It looks great inside and out...with exception of a sizable scrape on the rear curbside..just cosmetic....

It has a Hensley hitch......for me this will be the main focus///...never used one...have read the threads and and watched Utubes and read how to's ...but tomorrow trying to hook up and go may be FUN??

so i am taking it straight to a dealer for complete check up....

and then I'm on the road again....to wherever and whenever...

Awwww! It will be great to have you guys back among the travelers!

Aside from a great group in Ruston, LA, don't forget about Moraine View the second weekend in June. I'm sure there is a spot for you and we would all love to see you.

Congratulations, and will be looking for you.

Congrats on your new rig. As for your Hensley, my favorite tool is a power drill and a 3/4" socket to make adjusting the "jacks" easier.

If you have a good Executive Director (as I do) then backing up to the hitch will be easy.

New tires - even if it's been indoors - oxygen is everywhere and you've got dry rotted sidewalls.

Be safe and have a great time!

They Are On The Road Agaain!

Wahoo y'all. Glad to hear that you have a new 'stream and will be getting on the road again. '05 vintage tires - replace them! Then head off to new places. Looking forward to seeing y'all and the pups at Santa Fe Skies. The park has a large dog park for the pooches to romp and stomp!

Travel safe and we will see you down by the campfire.
