Since pictures are out I thought I would mention an incident we experienced several weeks ago and would like to hear your opinions and comments.
We were sitting in a Forest Service campground late in the evening during the "quiet" hours. We could hear the clanging of a hammer driving metal tent stakes. This went on for quite some time. Never saw the guy but it must have been a very large tent. We didn't complain or anything but I just got to wondering if this clanging would be disturbing to some or not.
One might feel sorry for this guy probably worked all day and drove some distance to go camping I presume with his family and now he is out there in the middle of the night trying to set up his tent. Or some might be upset that he didn't plan his trip better so that he is not disturbing the entire campground.
I must add that I bring this up tongue-in-cheek because I think it may lead to some fun comments. One other thing I must add, it was pouring down rain the whole time this poor guy was pounding tent stakes, would that make a difference?

Some people are just like that.

Hi, I might want to get upset or mad, but sometimes we just have to put up with these people. They might be idiots or just nice people who don't plan, don't know, or don't care. One night we were in a camp ground where the spaces are very close. The family next to us, [couple with four kids] instead of parking their tow vehicle in front of their trailer, parked it on the side next to my trailer. About every 30 minutes or so, someone would come out of their trailer to get something out of their tow vehicle. They never seemed to know where their stuff was so they opened and closed all five doors / tailgate / hatch back and went back into their trailer. And of course, they had to slam their trailer door to close it. This went on all night long. Should I go out there and smack these people in the head? Should I go out there and slam all eighteen of my doors so they can hear it too? Or should I feel sorry for these dummies and hope the next camp ground won't be like this and get some sleep for my 500 mile drive tomorrow?

Yeah Bob I wasn't mad or upset I just thought it was an interesting situation with many ways to look at it.

We are now in Ft. St. John at a Rotary park. We have decent internet but I don't think it would handle pictures. We stayed in Ft. Nelson at a place called Triple G Hideaway. I have never been so upset with a park in my life and would definitely recommend anybody I know avoid that place like the plague. Their lies and deception were beyond belief.

Next stop Grande Prairie, Alberta.

Well we made it through Jasper down the Icefield Parkway to Lake Louise and Banff over to the town of Cochrane. All is going well except for the fact that we seemed to have driven into a heatwave in the Northwest. Not exactly what we like being from a cooler climate but we will press on. We are heading south towards Glacier National Park and we'll see how things look from there.

Hi, Dan; [Irene, and Rascal] Yes it has been quite hot here lately, hotter than Lakewood. Glad we have central air in this house. We drove to the coast yesterday and it was only 65 degrees, but inland it was close to 100 degrees. Today we have cloud cover and it's 70 out. Hope it starts cooling down a bit.

Bob we have to get some of that wine.

For a catch up we made it to Glacier NP and drove in as far as we could on both the east and west sides of the park. The Road to the Sun has a 21' length limit to go all the way across. We are now in Columbia Falls about 20 miles west of glacier.

We had a bit of anxiety after we left Banff. We started to get a vibration around 30 mph. It wasn't too bad but was getting progressively worse. Anyway after a few nights of loosing sleep we got into a trans shop Friday afternoon and it turned out to be a worn u-joint which was easily and inexpensively replaced. The Hagerstream is back to it's normal self and I am sleeping better.

We had a couple on their maiden voyage in their 2006 Airstream pull into the next space to us. The little lady who runs the park thought us Airstream people might get along well next to each other. She was right. They are Dottie and Jack from Tennessee, a very nice couple.

I will get more info later.

Moosetags is also in the Glacier area hope you can meet up

While you are there be sure to try the huckleberry milkshakes and jellies. We got our in Hungry Horse in 2000. I have enjoyed following your trip. So glad your problem was an easy fix.

It's been about 11 days without a word.

Hi,

Hello, did we lose connection? Bad or no WIFI?

Dan, Irene, and Rascal, can you hear me now?

No the only connection lost is between my ears. Actually we have just had a lot of stuff to catch up. Coming home to very tall grass and dead batteries in everything that moves. Irene has an automatic watering system on her flower beds but everything else is on it's own.

One thing that we did is visit the restorer who is going to do the Golden Hawk. He is in the Spokane area. Anyway he is going to pick it up this week to start the restoration. It was more than a bit of work to get it out and all the extra parts ready to go.

Naturally connecting to the scanner involved updates which froze everything. We have been going back and forth with support for several days and because they take the holiday off we will continue on Tuesday. Until that is working properly I'm afraid to do much. We are trying to recover files and I'm more than a little nervous about doing much.

We are all healthy and doing well so hopefully in a few days things will return to normal and I can catch up on the trip where I left off.
