I mentioned meeting Ed & Eileen (epperp on Airforums) in Skagway, well here they are visiting with us in Haines.

Don't know what happened but the pics didn't show on that post so I deleted and will try again.

Back tracking a bit here is the Hagarstream at it's first bear encounter at Hope.

While waiting for the pics to load I have to tell you a story. I bought 2 step well light housings from an Airstream dealer, name doesn't matter, not his fault or Airstream's. Anyway I installed the lights and flipped the switch and blew a fuse. Scratching my head I blew a second fuse. So I disconnected the new lights and got out my meter. One of the new lights had a short to ground. Disassembling the light I discovered the fiber insulating washer under the bulb contact was steel instead of fiber. Just another example of Chinese quality control.

This is a basalt formation south of Quesnel. If you look close the white spots are birds nesting in the cracks.

Does some of this look familiar Bob? I hope it brings back some good memories for you and Lee Lee.

You can blame Irene for the pictures, she handles the camera. She has taken right at 2,000 pictures so far on this trip.

Hi, keep them coming, we love it. Our computers are about to explode with so many pictures on them. How do you like the fuel prices there?

Poor connection tonight so no pics but I will try to keep you up to date. We made it to Tok yesterday and had an electrical problem. After chasing around a bit I found a small braided ground wire on the transfer switch broken. I took a few strands of cooper wire and jerry rigged it to work for the night. I tried something a little more permanent today but was not successful so gave up and by-passed the switch. I will try to find a replacement when we get to a larger town.

We decided to tare a ride up to Chicken which everybody says is a must. Failed at that also. Got up to about 3100 feet and it started to snow, by 3600 feet there was 2 to 3 inches an the road surface, decided I didn't need to see Chicken that bad. Will have to try another time.

We had dinner at Fast Eddy's tonight, another highly recommended spot. I had the Alaska burger, I don't think I'll have to eat again for about 3 days.

How do you pronounce "ToK"? I imagine you are glad to have the same Goodyear mud & snows we have after the climb to Chicken.

Think back to the 60's my friend if you can remember through the fog it's what you did to all those "happy smokes" and yes the tires are fine but I wasn't really trying to "test" them if you know what I mean.
