Well it has been awhile since we have been on a real camping trip but here we are. We have had a couple of overnighters when I had my eye surgery and some local drives but this is the first real trip of the year. We are in Kalama, WA. which is about 30 miles north of Portland on I-5. We had a little rain the first day but no problem. This is what we see from the windshield.

We are here with 4 other coaches from a local RV club and we have a nice spot right on the river.

And naturally our flamingos wanted to come out and play.

Wednesday we took a trip to the Bonneville Dam and toured the power plant. There are actually two plants and we toured the original plant. It has ten generators and the new plant also has ten for total output of 1200 megawatts. Here is the power house and generators

I was thinking about adding some turbine power to the coach. Do you think this might be too much?

Sounds like a great trip. Heading home to Hood River from SoCal. Maybe our paths will cross?

You may have to take a wrong turn to cross paths Scott, we left Kalama and headed over to Astoria today, a nice pleasant, relaxed drive. We are sitting in a nice spot at Fort Stevens. The campground is full but we don't feel crowded. The connection I have is pretty poor so pictures maybe tomorrow I can post a few.

Cheers, Dan

Hi Gail, I'm glad you are out having fun. When I didn't hear from you I thought you were mad at me. We did see several Airstreams but I couldn't tell which one was yours.

We did have a pleasant drive to Astoria. This is the view from the bridge over the Columbia at Longview.

We camped at South Beach. No hookups but only $5 with our Golden Age Pass and a million dollar view.

I think we might have woken him up too early.

We made it home with no problems after a one week trip. We did 705 miles and I think the only bad thing was all the good food we may have eaten just a little too much. I'm afraid to check the scale.

Cheers, Dan

It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that we lost our beloved Hagar. More than three years ago he beat cancer after having a fast growing malignant tumer removed from his head but he just couldn't out run the effect of old age on his body. Traveling in the Hagarstream will never be the same without him.
