If you haven't already made the decision, I would also say head for the Tetons. Beautiful area, lakes and wildlife. I'm enjoying the photos.

Can you tell me more about Indian Creek (hook-ups ?, location, etc)?
Thanks for the complement . Indian Creek is a non-reservable campground run by the park service as opposed to the vendor run ones in the park. It cost $12 a night, no hookups, no dump station (closest is Madison). It is located on the north west side of the park north of Noris and south of Mamoth. I have seen bear, elk, and the occasional moose in the area. It is a favorite camp of mine, but not a hit with the masses. It tends to fill later in the day than the other campsites I belive.

My vote would be for you to drop down to the Grand Tetons. Spectacular vistas and clear lakes. Jackson Hole is kind of fun, too.

Your way home could take you to Vernal, UT and Dinosaur NP.

Good luck with your radiator - hope it solves your problem.

Pat
I am in Utah now eating lunch (I forget the town its between Vernal and Page?) I'm headed down to the Moab area then maybe across northern NM or on south to I 40. The drive out the south entrance of Yellowstone to where I am is fantastic but I have been very aware that a 3/4 ton is what I need (OYE the climbs). The radiator seems to have been just the ticket for the problem. So far so good.

I stayed at antelope flats campground at Flaming gorge last night, nice view lame campsites SMALL. More on the campground later. I did see what I belive to be an osprey with a fish both last night and this morning.

Update

Thanks for all the kind words about the photographs. Oddly, I havent been taking all that many for me but thats OK too. I am in UTAH working south I will post more pictures later and fill in some of the details on roads and such. I have seen a whole bunch of ASs the majority of which have been vintage.

I know you are running out of time - but when you leave Moab and continue S and E, you will find yourself in the Mesa Verde neighborhood. You can camp down near Cortez and take the truck up to the cliff dwellings by itself, if you want to avoid a pretty good climb.

headed east this afternoon

Dropped in at Monument Valley this morning, I managed to get the one overcast morning of the year..... went to the 4C monument and down past ship rock. I'm aiming for a campground near Jemez springs in NM tonight.
