The dented one is on the road .

Hey all,

Im prowling the four corners area with the avion this week and weekend. Saw a new airstream in Chinle today - no numbers, pulled by a cream colored suv. Otherwise not much aluminum in view. If you see me youll know me from the uncovered double spare tires on back. I havent found a cover for them yet, so give a honk! The roads are pretty quiet and I can drive like an old man!

Well done with the first trip. Aluminum was very scarce. Saw an ancient Boles Aero canned ham type being pulled in arizona. Maybe a rez rescue with broken window. Definitely was too much for the tow vehicle, the hitch was almost scraping the pavement. And likely it is somebody on here that I saw in Farmington; I saw a nice classic MH with a red toad. Blue striped 80s version but no numbers for any WBCCI or TAC or anything else. Otherwise just caravans of rental MHs seeing the sights, so the roads are still pretty dead, even on the weekend. This is the time to see the Grand Canyon, Escalante, Monument Valley, etc... Everybody seems to be waiting for that magic day -- as if travel is forbidden before that.

Dont forget the Eclipse tomorrow!

Hey Eric,

Glad you are out and about!! We are just finishing up the front floor replacement, running out to get the self tapping screws. Not long until we are on the road. You are right - this is the best time to travel. We're getting our winter projects wrapped up.

Have fun out there - we'll look for the eclipse, not sure we'll be able to see from the midwest - but, we'll look!

Tina

Hey Tina and Mike,

Hope all goes well with the floor. Mine has got weak spots but its in better shape than the house i rent! haha. The eclipse was pretty interesting but since i couldnt find a welders mask i only watched for a few seconds, and not all of them at once. I bet Chaco was packed with people watching. Post some pics when you get your classic out! I think the older the trailer the more interesting they are. Im doing one project at a time, and except for the furnace I got lucky and everything worked once I re-established propane and electrical connections. My dent may or may not ever get fixed. But then again, isnt that the fun of a vintage? Like an old car, theres always something to tinker with

Happy Travels!
