The Blue Ridge

Has anyone been on the Blue Ridge Parkway since the campgrounds opened this year? That stretch of biosphere may very well be my favorite place on earth.Florida has its perks,no doubt. The magical illusion of atmospheric perspective however, beckons me back to a higher elevation.

Richie, I've not been on the BRPW this year but agree with you, it's my favorite place also. We live about 100 miles from Blowing Rock, NC , the closest entry for us. I went to college at Appalachian St in Boone, spent lots of time on the Parkway. Still try to get up there at least once a year.
For me, the instant I pull on to the Parkway this great feeling of mellowness just flows over me. Some of the best tax money this country EVER spent.

Haven't been on the Blue Ridge Parkway, yet, but the Parkway and the Natchez Trace were two reasons why I bought an Airstream Interstate in the first place. Both are on my "must do" list, probably in my first year after retirement so I can take all the time I want and don't have to rush to get back to work. I also firmly expect that both will be on my "must do again" list once I've experienced them for myself.
