Cool The Airstream Ate The Kleenex

Sneaky little thing this AS. I stored 3 boxes of Kleenex on the top cabinet shelf in the powder room. Reaching in to retrieve one (more on that later) I heard a thud. Seems the cabinet back does not go to the top of cabinet. Hence, my Kleenex has gone where no arm can reach. Airstream...Really!! Is it to much to close up gaping openings? Really!! Does a future owner have to be in the throes of a shell off restoration to discover my Kleenex? Really!! What other surprises await? Really!! I know washers and dryers eat underwear and socks but a luxury rv? Really.

As for my hoarding of Kleenex: we are in New Orleans spending a month with our precious grand baby who shared her cold with us. She was over it in 2 days. We haven't left the AS for 3 days except to go to the drugstore for more symptom relief. (Pharmgeek, where are you when we need you? Really!!). I'm happy to report we are improving and hope to see the babe before weeks end.

So, I sign off short one box of Kleenex and with thanks to Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers. Really!!

Welcome to the forums!

Features such as this are built into Airstreams to make vintage Airstreams that much more desirable, serving as time capsules as well as travel trailers. Getting into inaccessible nooks and crannies usually results in the discovery of some historical artifacts. (Hopefully not grossly decomposed.)

Our 1960 Pacer included a variety of interesting artifacts, including a can of tuna that I was thinking about selling on eBay until I noticed that it was bulging distressingly and concluded it had better go to the landfill.

When I took the shower pan out of our 1980 Caravelle to gain access to a leak in the freshwater plumbing I found an interesting array of circa 1980 pop rivet stems, cigarette butts, and a candy wrapper.

Hi, you lost a box of Kleenex? Wait until you or someone else needs to remove a cabinet and see what the Airstream Factory left in there. I found several items in the cabinet, under my stove, and above my furnace.
