The 27' length.
We have not made the purchace yet. As far as towing or being blocked from a park or camping site, h
as anyone regretted the 27' length?

People seldom regret what they have, they make it work or move to another spot when it doesn't. Wheelbase of the truck will decide how manuerverable your rig is more than trailer length.
Midsize Airstreams (23-27) are the most popular models because they provide decent living space and tow very well.

Skipped over the 23 from our FC20 and went with a 25...easily accesses even the remote camping spots (those without even water ... no electricity, sewer, etc).
It is great to tow with a short bed 3/4 T TV.

Thanks…
I am set on the 27fb but my husband was a little (only a little) concerned with the length.

We have a 27 and generally have no problems camping where we choose ( mostly state parks and national parks). A few times we wanted to camp where length was limited to 25 feet. We just indicated that our trailer was 25 feet ( close enough and had no problems fitting in those sites.

We have had this 27 footer for six or so years now and have had no problems with size. Many many many RV, fifth wheels are around this size. @7 I would think would be the 'momma bear' of the Airstream family.

What more need we say, dkottum nailed it.
The floorplan works for us. And when it doesn't we will upgrade.

Just wanted to stress this. This week I towed our 23' with both my beloved Durango and a F150 Supercrew. The difference in maneuvering when reversing in tight spots was considerable.
Personally, I think a 25' is the magic size, but seeing many folks upgrade over the years from 25' to 27' says something...

The 27' length.
The Durango. When backing up into tight spots, you often need to watch where the front is going as well as the back. This especially plays a role if you need some back-and-forth for fine tuning. In tight spots like that, the longer vehicle doesn't help.
Maneuvers that were simple in the smaller SUV just took more work with the larger truck. No doubt that you get used to what you have. But I tow with a variety of vehicles, and as long as the setup is dialed in and stable, I like shorter.
Likewise, a Jeep Grand Cherokee was easier than my Durango, but the difference there was much less than with the truck.
To be fair, I'm often camping in tight state parks. But even tonight, in a fairly roomy campground, I used all of the maneuvering space I could get.

Our 27fb seems to be the perfect length for us, and we have been able to camp in several spots recently that we laughed at with a 40' motorhome towing a car! We almost bought a used 25fb queen, but love the extra room and the twins in the 27fb.
Our F150 Supercrew is a little long in turning radius, but it has great electric steering, so it's easy to maneuver when backing. I'm one of those people that want the Airstream perfectly aligned in the site, and it sometimes takes a little fiddling, but I haven't seen many places we wouldn't fit yet.

We have a 28' and long bed pickup. Never towed with a short bed..never been a problem..I do all the backing..guess it is what you get use to. Love the space for 2 and a puppy and plenty of storage.

In two years I have gone from a 1990 25 Excella to a 1999 27 Safari and now a 1995 25 Excella. I found no difference in towing or backing with my Tundra. I only moved back to the 25 Excella for the panoramic windows and wood interior, something both my wife and I missed with the Safari.

We've had the 27FB for three years now and absolutely love the floorplan. We also like the EB's.

We have a 25' and it is great but I keep wishing we had the 27' twin beds with rear bath. To me, the perfect plan! But isn't the grass always greener on the other side? :0 )
