This might be a stupid question but what dates is Mardi Gras?

Thanks

Mardi Gras... (French for "Fat Tuesday") precedes the Christian observance of "Lent".

When Is Lent 2015? - Catholicism

February 17, 2015

The Mardi Gras "season" typically lasts for two weeks, culminating in Fat Tuesday. I don't know about Galveston, but here in the New Orleans area there are parades by Mardi Gras Krewes every night, and every weekend afternoon, for the entire two-week period. So that "February 2-17" posted by Frank&Mike isn't wrong.

We love the Rockport area, very laid back and friendly. We have friends there and camp in their yard when we are in the area. Most RV parks are a bit to crowded for us but we really liked Mustang Island SP. Good luck!!

In Aransas Pass.. The Palms RV Park, Aransas Pass

The site is actively monitored and they are a great bunch of folks. I would like to stay there for an extended time...maybe in the future...

Texas Gulf Coast recommendations....

We've done several threads on Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend. A search will turn these up along with others.

The Texas coastline is about 350-miles in length.

IMO, Rockport is much the nicest place the entire distance, and the
Padre island Seashore the most interesting to walk and wander.

The Coastal Bend has all of what is best about the Texas Coast.

Protag mentioned the Corp of Engineers park on Lake Sam Rayburn. There is an airstream park located in Zavalla Texas; "Texas Airstream Harbor" that is also on Sam Rayburn.

It's only my list of places to stay in the future, but I haven't stayed there yet, so I felt I shouldn't recommend it until I have first-hand experience. I have heard good things about it, though.

Near season peak here. Just after Xmas usually. Temps are nice but humidity is still in 90's.
