Terraport hookups

Hi all, I tried to find the answer to this question using the "search" function and could not get the information I need.

Does Airstream's Terraport in Jackson Center provide electric and water hookups at this time of the year (November?) We are headed down there next week and wonder if we should fill the fresh water tank and be prepared to boondock or will we have these hookups?

Thanks,
Bob

If you simply picked up your phone and called the Airstream Store I'm sure they would be happy to answer this for you - and you could totally depend on the answer being correct.

Al, you shamed me into calling. Took me about 15 minutes on hold to get through to someone (that's why I really don't like calling Airstream.)

They advised me that the Terraport sites have electric, water and sewer year around.

They have, however, shut down the "public" dump station for the season.

Raised Poo Holes!

Warning - the sewer dumps are HIGH and WAY BACK. I use a Sewer Solution and last time there I had only 20 feet of hose... and my darned poo hole was 21 feet away from the drain on the A/S. My wheels were tight against the curb block. I could reach the poo hole on a neighboring vacant site though. Diagonal worked straight back didn't... I always used to get A's in geometry and I just don't understand that but tis true.

If you use a slinky you're well advised to bulk dump, Black, gray, then flush 5 gallons of clean water down the shower. Then remove the hose from the Airstream in a RAPID "separate and LIFT HIGH" movement. You're going to have to negotiate the water down the slinky, up over the hump and into the drain. A slinky carrier? It's still uphill Binky! Wanna put your wheels up 4 inches on blocks? That might do it.

Why are the sewer openings so high at Jackson Center? I don't know but the newer the park the more they seem to be built up. It's not a problem for the big mohos and SOB's but for the low slung Airstreams it's a bit of a PITA.

The SS is less of a pain, but I make sure it's got only clean water in it before I disconnect (or get out the lemon scented bleach and spray liberally!).

Two words: sewer solution...

I happily tossed the 'stinky slinky' when I got the Sewer Solution system. It will pump uphill quite a ways, and it's essentially self cleaning.

High sewer hookups may be govt health codes requirement.
