Tennessee Cumberland Plateau Campground-Your Thoughts

Looking to spend some summer months at this campground. We were wondering what other people have thought of this campground and facilities? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently President of the park and have had a site here since 2009. I love the summers here, the quiet, shade, and other members. I did not use the AC at all this year with mid-day temps in the mid 80's and cooler at night. We have a WIFI which can get overloaded but being 18 miles out of Crossville, we get our internet by satellite which can sustain only a few users at a time. I have my own internet satellite through Exede that is perfectly satisfactory and TV with a dish antenna. Without those you may become frustrated but with an annual park maintenance fee of $550 it is hard to beat for this level of civility. If you don't mind being out in the country or driving 18 miles to the Walmart superstore and chain grocery stores then you should enjoy the park and the summers here. The Spring is beautiful and the fall is many member's favorite season.

We've been lot owners for the past two years and love it here. The temperatures are nice in the summer (we're from Florida and know a thing or two about heat). The people at TCPC are great - it's like a family here. There are many park social functions. The campground is very wooded and beautiful. Currently, the leaf color change here is outstanding. There's a 5,000 sq ft clubhouse with stone fireplace, full kitchen, showers, laundromat, and big TV. The local area has plenty of restaurants and other things to do. Shopping is sufficient - Crossville has a Lowes and WalMart and various grocery stores. Check out the TCPC website for more information. We thoroughly recommend TCPC and will be spending lots of time here in the years to come.

I have Verizon and the phone always works for us. I usually have 1 or 2 bars and it says 3G. I know a couple of people here that have the Wilson signal booster and have a greatly improved signal. Like I said though, we haven't had any problems with phone calls but internet access is slow. The park has free wi-fi and this can be very slow during the day/evening (due to the number of users) but I find it works fine early in the morning.

We were wondering if this is mostly reverse snowbirds, weekenders,or units used as second homes? Are you able to and do they store their units for the winter?

I have Verizon on my I pad and ATT for the phone. Both services are almost nil at TCPC. There are reverse snowbirds at TCPC. There are a lot of people from the region who weekend there. There are people from the area who buy lots to have a place to keep their Airstream. You can leave your unit on your site over the winter. But I think water and sewer is cut off in the winter.

We just stayed there for our second time last night (just arrived at the Mothership from Texas). Absolutely love the people we've met there and the location itself - gorgeous. You cannot find a nicer group of folks! We've been thinking about making TCPC a base for our eastern US travels...

We stopped there this summer on our way from Texas to the International rally in W. VA and found it a nice place to stop and everyone was friendly. We would definitely stop there again.

We've been a member of TCPC for the past three years and love every minute that we spend there! Lots of friendly folks; some spend the entire summer, others visit on weekends and still others use it as a home base for their extended trips. The summer weather is extremely mild; spring and fall are absolutely breathtaking. Plenty of visitor sites with full hookups; drop in and enjoy Tennessee's beautiful Cumberland Plateau.

We are here right now and we can make Verizon phone calls, but cannot use our data for the internet. The Wi-Fi works, but is slow unless you use it late late late in the evening or early morning. It is gorgeous here at the moment. Perfect weather! Beautiful place!!
