Another great trip report.
Since these campsites do not have dump stations where where are the closest dump stations.
Thanks for sharing

A very nice trip post. Makes a person want to go, there, now!!
Can't help repeating myself, beautiful pictures. Looked at them for some time and not sure but I think it's the color and composition that pulls me in. Saving for a new camera and will work on framing my images. Even like your little copyright type image.

There is a dump station in Telluride that was paid for by the Telluride Rotary club. However, the powers that be in the People's Republic of Telluride refused to allow a sign that directed RV'ers to the location. There is a great campground at the east end of town next to Town Park that was off limits to MH's and TT's. Matterhorn and Sunshine USFS campgrounds are the nearest campgrounds to Telluride.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I really enjoy putting together the posts. It's like I'm reliving the adventure!
Denis4x4, could you send me a map showing where the dump stations are that you mentioned? And, if it is ok with you, I'll update my post to reflect such info.
Also, I mentioned Cayton Campground. If you stay here there are more electric sites and a dump station.
I'll being doing another post soon about Ridgeway State Park, which we stayed at on the way home from Telluride. This is where we dumped our tanks. This was a great park to stay at, sort of in the middle of all the places we really wanted to explore.

There is a dump station at the water or sewer plant just outside of town and I think it's free. We stayed at city park and had a great time. Thanks for the photos .

Is the treatment plant at Telluride or Ridgeway?
Since both places are in the mountains I will assume they don't open until late May or early June.
Meaning the state parks.

My parents owned a 1986 National RV Toyota motorhome and stayed at Ridgeway State Park several times in their travels years ago. They stayed in the campground below the dam. The area is in a more arid area and not in the pine forest. I'd love to see you do a report on that area.

When you go into telluride, turn right at the traffic circle and it is right by the Shandoka apartments parking lot. At one time, RV'ers had to find a water department employee that would open a manhole cover to dump black tanks. That's why we paid for a dump station.

I think now you open the cover on your own. We went and checked it out but did not use it.

Telluride has a traffic circle?!!! Last I heard there is one road in and the same road out. Unless you go over the 4WD roads.

Great Campground
If I am not mistaken, that is campsite #9. I know that campground very well. It is a wonderful place but many have several days of altitude sickness as it is at 9500 ft. Those coming from the plains do not realize they have come up so much in elevation.

Very cool stuff.
I have been all over Colorado on 2 wheels, many times- including all of the areas you detailed. Isn't HWY 92 along the Black Canyon rim a great drive, too?
We're looking forward to going back one of these summers with the Harley in the truck bed, setting up our FBO (forward base of operations, aka the Airstream) and really getting some good exploration done.
Thanks for sharing!

There used to be about 5 full hookups there and if you can catch an opening between reservations, they will let you dump.

StreamGlider, I've not taken hwy 92 yet. It looks like it is on the east side of the Black Canyon. We will have to investigate that area. We have been north of 92, around Grand Mesa. We took hwy 70 and dropped down into the area.
So much to explore!
