Has anyone camped on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge Fishing Pier in Florida?

Two forum members have spent the night on the fishing pier part of the bridge, one in an Argosy 24, the other in an Overlander.

I just noticed this thread and thought that if anyone going to the Ft. Desoto forums rally in Sept wants to meet out on the bridge the night before, I am planning on taking an extra day off of work and will be spending that Thurs. night out on the bridge. No hookups, just great scenery, and hopefully no hurricanes. The bridge is only a few miles from the park, so it isn't out of the way.

Looking for the next forums rally at Ft Desoto? Can't find any info on this.

But how do you turn around? Can my PU and 31 footer do it?

You make a u turn and the end of the pier. My pu and 31 can do it.

Thanks for the link, Steve - I don't have a plan, just a desire at this point. I'll certainly keep you in mind. It would be nice to see someone who knows the lay of the land, as it were.

I'm going down to Tampa on business next week, but doubt I'll have much looking around time, dang it.
