Stuck

Having a hard time finding a place to stay the weekend along Northern California coast. Reservations? Duoooh! Thanks.

Wandering I am lost,

How far north? California coast sucks to camp on. Your best bet is a private camp ground.

I agree with purman. Coastal camping on the coast in Calif is a tuff one with out reservation 7 months in advance. If your going as far as Humbolt. Their is a county park right at Big Lagoon (look at your map). I forget the name but, their is a sign for it. It sits right on the lagoon and just a short walk to the beach. Good look

I found a small really nice private place just south of redwoods. well probably half hour or so I don't remember exactly, as it was 3 years ago, and I was mad there were no campgrounds. especially after I left Oregon with one every 5 miles.

Depends on how far "north" you are. North of Eureka try walk up sites at Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. It's not right on the coast, but beautiful location. Or just a little south is Patrick's Point State Park, one of my favorite places. Once you get south of Eureka, detour from 101 to the Avenue of the Giants. It's the old highway 101 and there are several state parks along the way.

BTW, Eureka is my hometown. Amazing part of the country.
