Stillhouse Hollow Lake, Texas

What a beautiful weekend it was this weekend for camping. Some photos from Stillhouse Hollow Lake. A short 45 min. drive north of Austin.

Yes, a beautiful place to camp indeed. It was a surprise to us how nice the lake and campgrounds are. It is Stillhouse Hollow Lake and it has 3 developed parks. One park is on the north shore and 2 parks are on the south shore. This is site #16 in the Union Grove Park. Stillhouse Hollow is a Corp of Engineers lake and is located about 7 miles west of IH35 ... just west of Salado, TX. Salado is a great little tourist town with wonderful restaurants and shops as well.

I have always liked Stillhouse Hollow Lake. Did not seem to be as congested as Belton Lake. Since I grew up around Temple/Belton area, I am well familiar with the area. Nice find for you.

Sweet place to camp, for sure. It would make a nice place to have a fall forums rally or a late spring rally. Great pics.
