States I've Never Been To

Looking at huge map I just bought. There are 8 states I've never been to.

Alaska
Maine
South Dakota
North Dakota
Kansas
Idaho
Minnesota
Nebraska

Leaving out Alaska and Maine, and Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota, what are the "must see" sites or roads to travel in these states?

1..2..3...GO...make your sales pitch!

They do! I am thinking about visiting all the others except for Kansas so Kansas will be like a big donut hole in the middle of the map. I don't know why. It's just my sense of humour.

Kansas doesn't have much, really, but it is fun to camp there- peaceful- sawgrass blowing in the wind-
If you ever go there and ask directions, it is Eldo-ray-do, not Eldo-rah-do- I got scolded...
Maine has Bar Harbor, lobsters, and L. L. Bean.
North Dakota has a frozen military base.
Idaho has spuds.
Minnesota has 1,000 lakes.
Montana has a big sky.
Nebraska has Omaha.
I will probably never make it to those states if I never retire...

Just visit them all and find out for yourself. Each state has it's charms and things that might be great for me, but not interesting to you.

I have been to 49 states. I can't drive to HI! Most Canadian Provinces, NWT, Yukon too. All have been fun.

Scenery isn't everything. If you're from S. Calif you would find the down-home people in these places refreshing. Going down a country road meeting another occasional car and they wave a greeting to you, and it's not the "finger". And they have their own culture and delicious foods to sample. Go there, relax and mix with the folks. Stay away from cities, same crap all over again.

But if it's not the "finger" how would I even know they were waving at me?! But anyway, yea, I hear ya. Need to get out of SoCA!! Being that I'm in the southwestern-most point in the continental US, everything is a long long drive...hence, the new Airstream!

I'm gonna make one of my 2014 goals, to visit those last 8 states on my list...including Kansas!

Lol. Yes Kansas has a big ball of twine! But the Eastern Part is beautiful in the Spring with lots to do. Kansas City is split in half and the Missouri section has a lot of cool history etc. Lawrence and Manhattan are both great little towns as well.

Also we have great BBQ!

Kansas has great BBQ, and fields of beautiful sunflowers and yummy Swedish pancakes in Linzborg! States I haven't been to are: North Dakota, Oregon, Hawaii, Vermont, Delaware, Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire. We went to Grand Marais, Minnesota last summer - absolutely gorgeous! Loved it! Someone please convince me for a reason to visit North Dakota please?

I'm thinking there's a job to be had at the North Dakota Visitors' Bureau, in the PR department.

Come on, peeps from ND, give us your sales pitch!

I have not visited approx. 25% of the States though some of the highly populated ones are at the bottom, or out of sight, on my wish list. The States I have missed are:
Arizona
New Mexico
Texas
Oklahoma
Louisiana
Mississippi
Arkansas
Alabama
The Virginia's
North Carolina
Washington DC
Rhode Island
New jersey
Delaware
Maryland

In 2010 Sue (Frank and Sue) were trying to arrange a "Flat Front" motorhome gathering in Albuquerque for fall of 2011 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the CLIPPER. My plan was to proceed east from there to Florida possibly for a winter stay. Frank/Sue had some family health problems and sold their Clipper and interest dissipated. I am still waiting for a good reason to visit all the southern States.

Wallace, Idaho is the "center of the universe."
They also have an old silver mine tour.
Coeur d'Alene is beautiful, too.

We love Acadia National Park in Maine!
