St Paul,Mn to Eugene ,Or

We are planning a trip From St Paul,Mn to Eugene,Or in mid-May and checking if anyone has a favorite overnight place to stay along the way.
I think I am leaning towards a northern route I94,I90, I82,85 and I5 in Oregon.
We really like small county parks or interesting places???

Then maybe a Southern route on the way back I84,80 and I90???
Thanks, love being on the road!

We will be replicating your trip from St Paul to Yellowstone. Actually intend to arrive in St Paul area (Lebanon Hill Reg Pk) Aug 8 - 11. Our intent is to hit Big Sioux, Aug 11, Badlands, (Cedar Pass Campground) Aug 15, Cuter State Park (Stockade Lake North) Aug 22., Buffalo, WY (Deer Park CG) Aug 29., Buffalo Bill State Pk (North Fork) Sep 6., and Yellowstone (Fishing Bridge) Sep 8. Evidently, Yellowstone is closing on or around Sep 18. From there, we make our way down to Denver. Do you have an opinion on Lebanon Hill regional Park?

We liked Fort Abraham Lincoln near Bismarck ND. Just a few miles south of I 94.

Had you thought of doing your loop in reverse order? May can still be the tag-end of winter in the northern Rockies, and it would be a shame to miss Glacier or Yellowstone NP. (To get an idea, just check the official park websites (not the commercial sites) and see when their seasonal campgrounds open.) I-80 takes you through the "high, wide, and lonesome" in Wyoming, but it is that much further south.

We've never camped in or near Salt Lake City on I-80, but if it appeals to you, it is a really interesting place, as the heart of the Mormon area, with museums and tours. Ditto for Park City, the ski resort town just east of it. There is at least one place west of the city on I-80 (Saltair) where you can see the Great Salt Lake.

Just off I-90 in Spokane, Washington, I might give a shout-out to Airstream of Spokane. Airstreamers can park overnight on their lot for free-- with an electrical hookup. Otherwise we've stayed a few times at the Blackwell Island RV resort, just over the line in Idaho.
