Spring Training in Peoria

Heading to Mariners Spring Training in March and looking for suggestions for an RV park! Leaving from Seattle and any route/RV park suggestions along the way appreciated.

Not sure of your route, but coming or going, you might stop at the KOA in Billings MT. They claim to be the first KOA. How can you not stay a night at the very first KOA?

And then there is the Mothership.

My AllStays app shows several campgrounds near Peoria, but I know nothing of them. Being the closest, I would check them out first, as they are likely suitable.

I do know of Comlara Park, a county campground just North of Normal and the 74/55 interchange, which would take you directly to Peoria....40 minutes or so.

It is a nice, well maintained county campground, well used and loved by the locals, but you would have it largely to yourself but for weekends, until school is out.

Good luck!

Peoria Arizona, is on the west side of Phoenix and close to Sun City, Sun City West, Glendale, etc..there will likely be some Phoenix Unit members who can give you a review of some local parks, White Tank park and Lake Pleasant both have nice camping spots.

Maggie you made me laugh too.

I almost asked but was pretty sure. I beleive Arizona and Florida support a major portion of spring training. It's a fun casual way to see ball games and we usually a host family member or two who needs to escape the lingering cold fronts in St Joe Mo, Omaha and Nebraska City.

Thanks for the good chuckle.

Peoria Spring Training

I live in Anthem, Arizona about 20 miles north of the Peoria Sports Complex (Home of the Mariners and Padres spring training camps). There is an RV Park where I store my Airstream to the northeast east of Peoria on Interstate I-17, which gets you out of the city into the beautiful Sonoran desert. If you want to be closer to the Sports Complex, I can help you research them if you tell me what amenities you are looking for in a RV park/resort.
I love Spring Training in the Cactus League!

We stayed at Billings KOA in July 2015 - a pleasant and historic site on the river. But stay away from the pond area where all the Canada geese hang out as the surroundibg area is rather unpleasant.
