South of Boise, end of March, suggestions?

I going camping for 3-5 days with my family from Boise in a motor home the last week in March. There is a lot of camping in that area that is still frozen or just starting to thaw out so the plan for now is to head somewhere south of Boise. We will also be returning to Boise. Any suggestions?

Two places I would suggest for the month of March.

1) Bliss/Hagerman - A place about 100 south of Boise along the Snake river is a posibility. See Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument - Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument (U.S. National Park Service) for more info.

2) Hells Canyon - My recommendation for that time of year. The campgrounds are maintained by Idaho Power, and have heated restrooms. There was a recent article in the local paper about it (The Idaho Statesman - Always Idaho) - do a search on 'Hells Canyon' in the outdoor section. The canyon is deeper than the Grand Canyon, and as a result is much warmer in the spring than anywhere else in the area. It's about 140 miles from Boise. Go Hells Canyon National Recreation Area for more information.

Looking over the Hells Canyon link, I would suggest McCormick Park: Idaho Recreation Sites

Hell's canyon or Craters of the moon. Both within a days drive of Boise in opposite directions.
