Small Airstream

Am currently staying at the KOA in Perry, FL. At 3:20PM Eastern Time I was sitting outside my trailer enjoying the mid 70s temp and sun when I spotted the smallest Airstream I've ever seen. It was Southbound on US 16/Alt27/98. Since I spotted it before It got to the KOA entrance I was hoping they would stop but unfortunately they kept going down the road. Trailer - which was a vintage model - was very shiney and being pulled by a bright red pickup but don't know the brand. Sure would like to have gotten a closeup look!

My guess is that you saw the "Little Prince" and it is headed to the Tin Can Tourist Rally. Colin Hyde is there now, listen to TheVap.com.

Here are some pictures: Vintage Airstream E-Mail List Photo Gallery :: Der Klein Prinz (The Little Prince)

I believe that there was an article either in Airstream Life or in the Vintage Advantage describing the history of the trailer.

Bill

ps: on edit, thanks 2air'

Thanks for the info everyone. After looking at the pictures I can't swear this is the actual trailer I saw but I'm sure the one I did see was no more than 12-13' long. So if this is the only one of this size that Airstream built it is likely the one I saw. Still wish they'd stopped here so I could have gotten a closeup look.

I saw one this week too...

I was in the Granbury, TX area (Pecan Plantation) and saw a beautiful approx 14' - 16' multi-panel (13 ?) polished A/S that appeared to be flawless from the road. I was with a friend and couldn't stop and couldn't get my camera up in time. :-(

I was hoping to get back the next day for at least a photo but never made it.
