Ski resorts & rv parks

Looking to schedule a ski trip in the Airstream. Any ideas where we can take it? Thanks.

From your place, I'd probably head for Taos for an RV park and ski at Taos Ski Valley.

Eubank is right.

Also Mount Lemon north of Tucson, Arizona. Some seasons they have snow. Some seasons they have rocks. Steep too. Never skied Mount Lemon, but did get a look and left.

There is a ski area north of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Might check that one also. Some nice RV Parks out that way, but many close down for the winter season...

Camp warm in town at the RV Park and ski the snow on the shady sides of the mountain. Best advice for winter ski camping.

Colorado... your Dometic refrigerator will be warmer inside than the interior of your trailer!

Forget about Mt. Lemon. Don't ask me how i know ( check the bottom of my skis). Taos is a nice area but, I doubt if you will be able to find an open RV parks during ski season. If I remember correctly Taos village does not permit parking. You have to go outside the village and take a shuttle in.

I think both Taos Valley RV Park and Monte Bello RV Park in Taos are open for the winter. Both are in Taos proper, not in the Taos Ski Valley area.

Taos Ski Valley (>9300 ft elevation) is located 20-some miles to the northeast of Taos proper (6970 ft. elevation); Angel Fire ski area (>8600 ft. elevation) is located 20-some miles to the east of Taos proper.

Monte Bello RV Park is open. We've stayed there three times. Headed back for a fourth. Managed by a retired sergeant major, so all is as it should be.

Montana is always good for skiing ... just a "bit" further north ...
