ID:	340989, it’s doing this: (hoping photo attached). I’ve tried sliding it out and then sliding it back in, no joy. Any permanent fix suggestions from the community?

Sweep

Make sure the bottom seal/sweep is the correct length. I replaced mine and it was a little long and it would come out. I trimmed it to the exact size of the door track and that fixed it, no more issues.

Yeah it’s a plastic bit - once it gets messed up it deforms and doesn’t go back as new. $5-$10 part thereabouts. Plan to replace every 1-2 years. Wear and tear.

In your case it may have been mis-fed into the track when originally assembled, causing to to get mangled after a few open / closes. Most dealers are not hyper detail oriented / focused so likely not caught on PDI.

To help all of us simple folks...the reference to it being a stock part and easily replaced....can you give us more details as to part number, what part to specifically ask for, what aisle and bin number to find it in the big box companies....., etc.
Or do we need to order it from one of the trusted suppliers who are small companies that we see on this site and can't advertise for them either??

Shower door sweep

Seven dollars and night five cents. Google is your friend:

“Airstream shower door sweep”

http://odmrv.com/catalog/index.php?m...oducts_id=1517

Out of doors mart is a very reputable supplier.

You can also call airstream customer service and say “I need a new door sweep for the shower”. They’ll know exactly what you are after - they’ve been using the same door for a number of years.

When I called they sent me a new one no charge as I was still under warrantee.

Otherwise out of doors mart can send you one for seven bucks and change plus shipping.

We had the same ‘sweep’ problem with the shower door on our 2014 FC.
the sweep kept shearing off.
Permanent fix- remove the sweep.
We installed a shower curtain and have had no leaks.

Shower door sweep

If your door is too low, causing unnecessary friction against the sweep, call airstream customer service and they’ll send you a little kit to raise the door and stop the sweep from dragging.... no charge

We also installed a “hospital type” nylon shower curtain just inside our shower door. Used a spring rod so we could lay it on the shower floor during towing. No more leaks. This has been a problem on all 5 of our Airstream trailers.

Ours tore. I removed it. Less water outside the shower. I’m happy.
The sweep pulled water from the lower door track when the door was opened. With the sweep gone, water doesn’t escape during showers and the door doesn’t sweep water out.
So, for the life of me, I can’t see why you’d bother with it. YMMV

Try to keep it in the channel so that it does not work out ... silicone sealer is your friend.

I removed the shower sweep and didn’t replace it. I took a shower last night (sans sweep) and the floor outside the shower remained dry. So to bandeddie’s point, why bother replacing it? Also, the shower door no longer sticks at the bottom when I open it. Thanks everyone for your responses.
