Should I keep my 2 X Honda 2000i generators

I have two 2000i generators that I paired to run the 25ft Safari that I just sold. I have a new 30ft Flying Cloud with 2 AC's. One 50 amp and the other 30 amp. Will these two generators have enough power to run the AC's. Is it safe to connect a 50 to 30 amp connector to the Honda 2000i companion.
Should I cut my losses and sell and buy something bigger?

Factory Airstreams have a choice for 30 amp 1 AC, or 50 amp two AC. Unless you have something different, other than factory, there must be some confusion.

"Chip Tank" is in Vacaville Ca..

You can run one ac no problem - with the Honda's paired. Probably both of them but you would be pushing the limits of sustainability

I just run one with the pair to be safe.

I wouldn't advise running 2 AC units at the same time with paired Hondas. You can certainly run one like you did before.

I'd be happy to give your Honda's a good home.

I am a bit confused by your comment that your Airstream "has two AC's one is 50 amps and one is 30 amps." ??? As far as I know, all Airstreams with two AC's have a single 50 amp connection for shore power (as indeed does our 2014 27 foot Eddie Bauer with two AC's.) Does your Airstream really have TWO shore power connections, one 50 amp and one 30 amp??? If it does, then I don't know what you have going on and ask that you please disregard the rest of my post.

Assuming that you simply misspoke and that you only have a single 50 amp connection for shore power it is perfectly acceptable to use a 30 to 50 amp adapter to connect your trailer to shore power (or a single or dual generator setup) that has a 30 amp connection. However, when you use such an adapter you will not be able to exceed the amount of power provided by shore power or the generator. In other words, using a 50 amp adapter to connect to a 30 amp source does not create more power out of thin air. So when you use such a connector you will be limited to the amount of power provided by your shore power or generator. In the case of a 30 amp supply, you will be able to safely run one AC unit at a time but not both at the same time. You might be lucky for awhile if you run both AC's off a 30 amp supply but eventually you will damage your AC units.

We use a pair of 2000 generators, we run one unit, either one, no problem.

I have the very similar setup, we use ours to power 1 AC or Microwave when we are on the road.

I ended up selling my two Honda 2000's to my nephew and buying a Honda EU3000i Handi instead. My main reason for having a generator is to run the A/C. The 3000 easily handles the 15,000 BTU unit in the front of the trailer. It weighs 78lbs and had built in wheels for easy (relatively) mobility. I can lift it into the truck bed myself, though having another pair of hands (and muscles) makes it easier. As already noted, I use a dogbone adapter from the generator to the 50 amp anaconda cord. Obviously, you can only run ONE A/C with this generator. I also make sure I turn off the electric water heater and don't use the microwave. There is enough power leftover to charge batteries, though.

Good discussion going on here. I bought a Honda 2000i hoping I could power one a/c on my 26U. We have a 2 a/c set-up, a 15000 BTU and a 13500 BTU. Even when we tried the 13500 BTU the single Honda 2000i was not enough. So now my quandary, get the Honda 2000i companion unit, or trade it in and get the Honda 3000. Considerations are weight/portability, noise levels etc. Any experience from other AS owners would be appreciated.

I had the same deal, you can run one AC with the 2 2000's, but not both, I bought 2 3000 Honda's that run as a pair like the 2000's and they run both A/C's very well. Lots of money, but I am in business and can camp where I need too. They do not recommend this, but one day when all I had was a 30 Amp connection I shut everything else off and ran both AC's on a 30 Amp connections. I made sure they did not both start at the same time. I got the trailer cooled down and shut one down. It worked and I had a cool trailer.

Honda 3000 produces 25 amps max, 23.3 rated.
Paired EU 2000 produces 33.4 amps max, 26.8 amps rated. The paired gives you a generous margin and the ability to run other appliances or either A/C.
The paired will use a little more fuel and take up a little more room, they add about 15 lbs and have a shorter run time. The paired offer assurance of some power as it is not likely that both would be unserviceable at any one time.
For my purposes the pair is the better option as I prefer having the extra amperage, as it reduces the risk of failed appliances running marginal current at the most critical time, startup current draw, here the paired units have the real advantage.
