I've used the Edelbrock Performer IAS shocks on two Suburbans and really like them. They are firm when they're supposed to be and soft when their supposed to be. They really have the valving correct on these.

Good Luck

I'm doing the same. My 88 Burb has the original shocks still on it (it only has 71k on the odometer). Front shocks are DONE!
So what did those run? I was going to go look at the Billsteins that AutoZone carries.

I think they were $68 ea. I've also used the Bilsteins with good success. I used those on a couple of conversion vans in the past.
I went with the IAS shocks just to "try them out". I was going to install Bilsteins. I think its probably a toss up between the two, but I think the IAS shocks offer a smoother ride on choppy roads.

About the same price as the Bilsteins then. I'll look for them.
