In Cortez, Colorado, on the way to Lake Powell or the SW desert of Utah, stop at The Silver Bean. Two vintage Airstreams, serve great coffee, breakfast, sandwiches in a cool setting!

Best Hamburger joint in Texas is Storms Drive Inn in Hamilton, Texas.

It is an original 50s style joint and the people all say hello when you walk in.

A couple of days ago enroute from Camp Verde, AZ to Kingman we accidently stumbled onto a great little hamburger joint off IH-40 on the ole Route 66 in Seligman, AZ. You can't miss it on the right as you arrive into the town. Great place to look around and recall what it was like in the 50's.

They make a fair hamburger, too. Buffalo burger if you want.

What's the name of this place or is it the only building in town?

Jimbo's Jumbo Hamburger Stand, East (or Lower??) Stanley, Idaho. It takes a while to get your fresh-cooked burger, but the food is worth the wait. While waiting, you are close by the rushing Salmon River and the gorgeous Sawtooth Mountain Range.

City Market -- Luling, Tx
You & Your "Taste Buds" will love to travel the BBQ Trail!

Out of the way, but worth it.

And, the one I start salivating over a day or so beforehand:
City Meat Market -- Giddings, Texas
Giddings Barbeque - Giddings BBQ. Barbeque on 290. Texas Barbeque and Meats

Plenty of parking for your rig behind the market at the old train depot. On the main road from Austin to Houston.

Just East of the SR 87 and 260 intersection in Payson, Arizona. Some of the best fried chicken I have eaten. The place is called Tiny's Restaurant and if you happen to be there on a Sunday, they have all you can eat chicken with all of the fixins including dessert for about 7 bucks. To top it off they have ample rv parking in the back of the restaurant.

Thumbs up

Love Seligman, especially the Snowcap. We were there last fall, even got to get a picture with Angel Degadillo while I was sitting in his barber chair.

Without a doubt... Peggy Sue's 50's Diner in Yermo, California, off of Interstate 15 in the middle of the Mojave Desert. The place is a real kick!

OK this is getting interesting and brings me to a question. What would it take to have this information indexed by state? I know I would like to have this information at my fingertips. Can one of our computer talented members design a thread that would allow the name and location information to be posted by state. The original thread should continue with the other comments but the basic information being extracted to the indexed thread.

My contribution would be Rita Mae's in Morgan City Louisiana. 5 in dia. hand made hamburgers and the best Bread Pudding you will ever have. After a couple of hamburgers my wife and I had all we could do to share a bread pudding. But then we ordered one to go. It is in town but you will have to ask a local for directions because it is off the beaten path and only parking for a trailer is on the residential streets.

Mother's on #104 in Antigonish Nova Scotia has great food. You will see the signs for miles ahead and question if it another South of the Boarder, those that travel #95 will understand the comment, but worth the stop.
