I went to the online application and completed it. Was afraid to submit the order because I had not uploaded the photo id and wasn't sure if the Submit Order button closed the application. Does anyone know how and when you upload the id when completing the application online?

Thanks
Al

Al, Just take a pic of your driver license and upload it when prompted. You will be prompted to upload the photo of your ID after you submit the order.

Lifetime 'Geezer' National Parks membership

Just stopped in to my nearest national park today to get my pass.

Smooth as silk, $10, and forest ranger suggested I spread the word as fast as I can that time will run short for the $10 permits.

The awaiting plan for seniors will be $20 per year, $80 for lifetime. After four consecutive annual passes, a person will be able to redeem their four annuals for an $80 lifetime pass.

MAJOR ALERT. The forest ranger said, 'there is no way for the park system to track how many annual permits one has purchased' so, KEEP YOUR ANNUAL CARDS if you want to redeem them in four years.

That seems a generous and reasonable plan, allowing the $20 annual plan to accumulate and be lifetime in 4 years...prevents the $80 lump initial outlay, which could be burdensome for some.

Thanks for providing that information.

Just got my pass in the mail yesterday $20 total with all the fees, still a great deal.
Thanks for the heads up on the price increase

No need to do this online fir the extra $10 in fees. Any federal office like NFS, BLM, NPS or a federal building can issue. Simple $10 process

$10 extra is worth avoiding driving to a federal office and the last time I visited one, I ended up speding 5 years in the Air Force

If your first vacation stop is at a National Park entrance station or visitor center, they can handle your senior pass purchase, as well.

Still a great bargain as I'm retiring to my property at the entrance to Sequoia Natl. Park (1/4 mile away).
Don't be discouraged.

I purchased mine a week ago at a local Forestry. A forestry person, not a clerk, sold me mine for $10.

It was their opinion, okay opinion, this may not get through the wheels of government until 2018 even if it passes.

It was also discussed that you won't have to fork over $80 at once. If a senior purchases four consecutive, $20 annual geezer passes they can redeem them for an $80 lifetime pass in the future.
