San Jose to Yellowstone

We are taking our Airstream on it's first interstate vacation!
We will be traveling from San Jose (280, 680, 80)to South Lake Tahoe (50) then on to Idaho then to Yellowstone. Are there any Hwys we should avoid with the AS around Tahoe or Yellowstone?

They were working on highways in the Tetons and Yellowstone with no more than thirty minute delays; however, none you should avoid necessarily. The work on the NW portion of the North loop will be a bit rough towing and no doubt muddy if it's raining but just take it easy. That section will be under repair this time next year I bet. The balance of the repairs in Yellowstone had to do with putting down oil on the surfaces which made it necessary to limit travel to one lane for a short distance. Paving was underway between Jackson Lake and Jenny Lake when we were there last month. The road into Grand Teton from Rawlins, Wyo. was torn up, under reconstruction and muddy when we traveled it.

Upon arrival you'll be handed a map showing the roads that are currently under repair/construction and that will help out. I believe that map is available online as well.

Have a great trip. This is "The Year of the Bear" apparently in Yellowstone as we observed eight Grizzly Bears to say nothing of the wolves! What a trip!
