Question San Jose CA Campgrounds

Hi folks,

The dogs are getting to old for the kennel and I need to visit Grandma in San Jose Ca for X-mas....

Anyone have any personal thoughts or experiences in RV Parks in San Jose CA?

From campingfriend, I found:

Garden City RV Park
1309 Oakland Road #24
San Jose CA 95112

Trailer Tel RV Park
1212 Oakland Road
San Jose CA 95112

With a buch more outside of San Jose, in Morgan Hill. Grandma lives right downtown in a retirement building next to the Fairmont Hotel, so being close to downtown would be ideal, but not required. A safe place to hook up and live the pups in the trailer during the day is priority. (stayed in on RV park i Texas that had questionable activites next door )

Can anyone give me thoughts to the RV parks in San Jose I have listed above, or any other ones close by that would be nice and safe?

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin, I know of a good campground in Capitola that's a quiet, safe place, but about a 30 min. drive from San Jose and your grandmother. It's also very pretty, and if your dogs are used to being in the trailer without you, it might suit your purposes. Try New Brighton State Park in Capitola. Full hook-ups are available and it also has a dump station. Of course the drawback is the mountain drive over Hwy 17, but if you commute without the trailer it's not an issue. Easy access to the freeway and not too complicated to get to your destination.
Good luck.

Thanks Janet. I't sounds lovely but I think it will need to be closer. The girls (our 2 dogs) will have to be in the trailer most the day since the retirement home does not allow pets, so I'd like to stay closer to them if possible.

Unless anyone else says otherwise, it looks like t may be Trailer Tel for the week.

We have a son in Los Gatos and stayed in Santa Cruz the last few visits...the freeways are not easy for us....we are old

Next time we are staying in Morgan Hill at Maple Leaf....at least that is what Brenda says at this point

I personally think I would prefer to stay in Portland.
