RVs at the Grand Canyon!

Hey guys, wasn't sure if this should be in the RV forums or the general on the road ones, hope I picked the right place for it.

Anyway, I recently rented a trailer to take the kids to the Grand Canyon and it was the best time! I was shocked how much the kids love it, they’re so used to vacations at our timeshare in St. Martin. We had a GPS and took all these back roads through Navajo country and we are so doing another road trip like it. But we rented a Ford RV, and as a Chevy guy, I am convinced there must be better makes out there in the 30’ variety. Please, lay it on me!

You will find that there are about as many dedicated Ford fans here as there are Chevy or to a certain extent, Dodge. All three make great tow vehicles, but if you are interested in tow behind trailers, you will almost exclusively find Airstreams or Argosies (Airstream products) here.

Welcome to the largest forum dedicated to Airstream and Airstream products and the camaraderie that comes with owning an American icon. More than 60% of all Airstreams manufactured since 1931 are still in use and most of those are still on the road each year for family vacations and many are lived in full time. This speaks to the quality of design and craftsmanship that has been built into each one. That is not to say that the newer ones aren't without flaws...this is what you'd expect from any hand made product and probably equal to any other brand when it comes off the line, but the design of the Airstream makes it more durable than virtually any of the competition.

Given that we're on an Airstream forum, I’m partial to Airstreams, myself.

I remember as a kid seeing them and I think that’s where it started for me: they looked like space houses. So now I have an Interstate which rocks! Chevy makes some decent motorhomes, as a chevy man you know what to expect there.

Anyway, what do you plan to do with the timeshare? They don’t resell at all these days. In fact you might have to pay. I did, I had to hire Timeshare Relief to catch a break and get out of my timeshare.
