Smile RV parks -- Minnesota, Wisconsin

Thinking of traveling North and would like some suggestions
On nice parks located on (or very close to) lakes up North!
We haven done the Boundry Waters a number of times but
Are just getting too old to Port the canoe more than 10 feet!!
Any suggestions?

The Airstream park in Minnesota is certainly worth a stop.

Ditto on the Minnesota Airstream Park. Although there is not a lake 'on site', there is are many lakes nearby and a heated swimming pool. Here is the website

You might check out Minnesota State Park website and the state parks along the 'North Shore'...Tettagouche, Temperance, etc.

We will be at the Lakehead Boat Basin in Duluth next weekend. It's unique, camping in downtown Duluth within 100 yards of Lake Superior. The MN Airstream Park mentioned upthread is also nice.
To learn to see below the surface, you must adjust your altitude

We have stayed at Tettegouche State Park up at North Shore in the past, only electric and water hookups but really a beautiful park with good hiking trails right off the campground. There are also a number of other parks up and down the North Shore that are worth stopping to hike - Gooseberry, Cascade and Temperance being our favorites. If you want to stop in town, Grand Marais is a cute little place with some fun little shops and art galleries. You can find a lot of info and make reservations on the MN State Parks website. Try Betty's Pies on your way up for lunch!

I second the recommendation on the Grand Marais Marina & Campground, which is right on Lake Superior.

Campground, Camping, RV in Grand Marais Minnesota

The National Forest Fall Lake Campground is on Fall Lake, which is one of the entry points to the BWCA. It's a nice campground and has its own boat launch ramp and swimming beach.

Just made a reservation for Willow River State Park in Wisconsin. Never been but it looks beautiful and has great reviews. It's just north of Hudson, just under 3,000 acres and it has a non-motorized lake and a beautiful waterfall you can hike. Just about $20 a night. It has 30 and 50 amp but no water connection.

It has three loops: 300 loop, trees, shade and privacy; 200 loop, partial shade and partial privacy; 100 loop is newer and wide open.

If I only had a dollar for every time I got distracted, I wish I had a puppy.
