Question RV Parks in Portland,OR??

We're in Bend,OR and heading to Portland on Friday. We are looking for a nice, clean rv park near the city but not in the city. Any suggestions?

Do you want a campground or a RV resort park? Champoeg State Park is a beautiful park, we just had a WBCCI rally theres last weekend. It is about 20 miles from the center of Portland. We also have stayed at the Pheasent Hill RV Resort in Wilsonville just outside of Portland which is very nice and next to Costco, Target etc. but has a country setting, last one on the block, so to speak.

I would also agree that Champoeg is a GREAT park. We stayed there this summer and loved it. We also stayed at Ainsworth State Park which was about 30-40 minutes (I think) outside of Portland. Beautiful area.

Thanks for the great info. We don't care if it's a campground or rv resort. Just a clean place to stay that is not too far from Portland. We will be busy in Portland and will not be spending much time in the camper.

If you want to be near "the city", but not "in the city", then the best place is Sauvie Island.
Has a couple of nice RV areas, quiet, good views, no traffic or noise, and only a few miles from downtown.
A Google search on "Sauvie Island, OR." will tell you all about it.
Have fun while your here.

I've stayed at Portland Fairview RV Park near Gresham. It's big, clean, and well maintained. It has a pool/spa and nice landscaping. I'd give it a thumbs up and it's only about 15 minutes from downtown.

You could check out Clackamette Park. It's on Highway 99E about 10 or 12 miles south of downtown. It's located where the Clackamas and Wilamette Rivers intersect.

When we were there the campground was very clean and the host had no problem with another camper that had to leave their RV alone there during the daytime.

We are currently parked at Pheasant Ridge in Wilsonville and it is very nice. Fairly quiet and close to everything.

Thanks again for everyone's suggestions. We decided to stop and check out Sandy Riverfront RV Resort in Troutdale, Oregon. So glad we did! Nice place, great people, clean, and close to the airport and Portland which is what we were looking for. We are on the river with a great view. If you are in this area, we highly recommended this park!
