LA is huge; can you narrow the location down a little, please? If you are headed to Disneyland/Anaheim area, there are a couple nice RV Resorts nearby. However, they are kind of pricey due to their proximity to the park.

I just spent a night at Orangeland RV park in Orange. It is walking distance to Anaheim Stadium, has a shuttle to Disneyland, and is walking distance to Amtrak/Metrolink (into LA). Nice urban RV park.

LA proper lacks RV parks. Some around the periphery:

East Shore RV park San Dimas.
Golden Shore RV park Long Beach
Walnut RV park Northridge
Dockweiler RV Park Playa Del Rey
Canyon RV park Anaheim
Various state parks in coastal OC.

We stayed at the Anaheim Resort RV Park... it's main feature is its proximity to DisneyLand. But, it's nice, has a pool... I was pretty happy considering its urban setting.

We've stayed at East Shore RV Park and really enjoyed it. The upper loops have great views and are maintained beautifully. As soon as the sun goes down the skunks would come out, that was fun to watch. They could have cared less about us.

ASwifey,

Thanks, I am always on the look out for a nice place to stay near LA. I find I travel out that way every couple of years.

A year ago, we stayed at the Malibu Beach RV Park, just west of Santa Monica on Hwy 1. Malibu Beach RV Park | RV Campground | Malibu | California
But, watch out for all the rules and regulations. We've got a 19', so were able to park our tow vehicle sideways in front of the Airstream, but anything longer and you'll likely have to park in a designated parking area away from your trailer.
One time when entering, I didn't 'wave', so was chased down by a golf cart which caught us just as we parked. You must park with all tires on the gravel pad, or you're in big trouble. We were lectured for not waving when passing the office, then she spotted that my right rear tire was 2" over the pavement line! Another lecture, after she waited while I moved our vehicle to get the tire off pavement.
The restroom/shower rooms are posted closed daily from 9am to 11am for cleaning. Who ever heard of closing those facilities that time of day, and for two hours?
The last morning, a weekday, we got up early and showered, wanting to get out of town and headed north on I-5 before the heaviest rush hour traffic. We wound our way up through the park to the exit, and find it blocked with a steel cable and padlock across the roadway. There is a row of embedded spikes so no one can enter that road, so why lock it down? I climbed down the steep bank to the office, and had to beg them to unlock it for us. Another lecture, of course. The regulations stated you are not allowed to leave before 7am, but I had missed that in the many regs they given us.
We had a ocean front view, which was nice, but doubt we'd ever stay there again. There were probably four other Airstreams in the park during our visit.

I agree with Silverbacksurfer. Check out Leo Carrillo on PCH in Malibu. Nice beach!

kd7trx is sure right about Malibu. Pretty view from some spots but it costs a fortune and is run like a prison camp. Once was more than enough.

We stayed at Golden Shore RV park in Long Beach for New Years 2012. It's a very well-kept park. Unfortunately, this park is just downwind of one of the busiest ports in the world. The smell of the bunker oil being burned by the freighter ships is sickening and the constant accompanying noise from all the trains and 18-wheelers taking all the goods to the rest of the country will keep you up at night. Otherwise, this was a great park. Very manicured, right on the water, and pleasant staff.

TNX big time for all the good suggestions,,, We are here in LA, and currently sitting in the KOA Fairplex in Pomona. Been touring the area and having a good time. Hopefully, we'll get down to Inland RV on Monday to say hi to Andy. Then its underway to one of the more southerly parks for a few days.
