The really isn't much. The Virginian is a parking lot with trees but run by nice people and close to everything. Like anything in Jackson, it is pricey.

The Gros Ventre campground in the southern part of Grand Teton National Park has electric sites and the occasional Moose... About 15 miles from Jackson...

By the way, "Jackson Hole" refers to the whole valley which old-timers referred to as a "hole". Jackson is the city.

There are three primary opportunities. As was pointed out, Gros Ventre is the most visually appealing, is owned by NPS and operated by a vendor, with a nice river running E-W along the south side of this wooded campground. It's first come, first served and is quite busy during the summer. Its minor disadvantage is the 12-15 mile drive into Jackson.

Another choice is the commercial campground on the road out to Teton Village. It's a nice property with clean showers, bathrooms, etc. but is pricy. As I remember, about $125 a night.

My last choice is the campground right in Jackson. It's basically a flat, open graveled parking lot with no redeeming views, but it is in town and close to everything in Jackson. Also $$.
