RV park in/near Memphis
This summer I will be traveling from Dallas, TX to Lexington, KY. Our halfway point is Memphis, TN. I am searching for a place along I-40 to stay overnight. Any suggestions?

i have found tennessee interstate, ROADSIDE rest areas EASY to use for simply 'overnightling'...
one can park the tv/trailer AWAY from the 18 wheelers and still pickup music city television...
it's boondocking on tarmack!
cheers

We stayed at Tom Sawyer Miss River Park (across the river from Memphis) a year or two ago. We enjoyed watching the river and the barges go by, ever so slowly.

..one of Memphis' great native sons, Alex Chilton, passed away last night...
...he was a dear friend of mine and...well, I really can't explain it...but he beat the system in so many ways and was....I won't be able to hear "Thirteen" anymore without crying my eyes out...

I like J.C. Fuller SP myself. There is also a KOA on the AR side up I55 2 or 3 exits.

Depending on time of day you "depart" Memphis you might want to be on the East side.
Depending on time of day you arrive you might want to be on the West side of Memphis.
WEST SIDE;
KOA formally ABC (America Best Campground) just N of I-40 on I-55 is conveient we stayed there when it was ABC easy in easy out.
Tom Sayer just south of I-40 I have not stayed here.
EAST SIDE;
Memphis East Campground less than 1 mile from I-40 easy on / off Exit 20.
I have not stayed here.

Graceland
We stayed at the Graceland RV park this winter on our way through. Stayed on "Teddy Bear" Lane. Easy in and out...there was a shuttle for a minimal cost to downtown. Took that and had the best ribs. Easy pet run and got to see the "Lisa Marie" airplane of Elvis's. Woke up at 3 in the morning and noticed the TV was on. Shut it off and it came back on by itself within minutes.
Unplugged the TV and got used to the fact that "Elvis was in the AS".

We stayed at a campground near Graceland last year, can't remember its' name but we walked to Graceland and it was perfectly adequate.
Being baby-boomers, Elvis was a big part of our young lives. Graceland is an excellent tribute to him, very well done and tasteful, well worth the price of the ticket and time spent.

The KOA and Tom Sawyer are OK; however, there's a state park withing the city limits that is wonderful! It has it's own golf course and is close to Graceland. You might GOOGLE 'Tennessee State Parks' to locate it. I highly recommend it.
