RV Park in Jacksonville FL

I am going to have to spend a week in Jacksonville Fl as part of the continuing ed for my job with DOD. I will be at the Military Entrance Processing Station right off of I-95 at exit 341 I would appreciate any recommendations for RV parks for my stay.

I have no specific recommendation for you but only an observation that private Florida RV parks are generally way overpriced and State Parks are hard to get into on short notice. A lot of military bases have RV parking on the base, you might want to check if that applies in this case.

Best of luck.

Little Talbot Island State Park is just north of Jville and there is a county park with camping just south of the state park. Not sure about private ones as they are not usually our cup of tea.

Linda will you be on TDY orders for DOD if so you might try one of the Naval stations in Jacksonville. Not sure if they are open to DOD personnel but you might just want to give it a shot.

Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park

We stayed at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park in the Mayport area of Jacksonville. It is a Jacksonville city park with full hook-up camping and 1.5 miles of beachfront within easy walking distance of the campground.

We stay at Fleetwood frequently because it is close to our son. I think it is about $32. Nothing to write home about but we feel safe and seems to be clean. I think they only have a few transient spaces. It is in a semi industrial area.

You may want to look at Crooked River State Park. Very pleasant, nice trails and just off the St Mary's exit off I-95.

State parks do keep a few sites non-reservable available for walk-ups.

We have stayed at ft clinch state park and liked it... Have a reservation there again in September for the beach section... Right on the dunes. Might not be close enough to the base for you, but if it is, I'd recommend it.

If you are a DOD civilian employee you are eligible to stay at Pelican Roost RV Park Naval Station Mayport according to the literature I have in my hand. There phone number is 904 270-7808.
My wife and I are staying there mid April. Army Retired.

We've stayed a couple of times at Flamingo Lake RV Resort, referenced above. They probably have military discounts. Nice place and great staff!

RV parks near the Villages Fl

Our dream is coming to reality. We are nearly ready to hit the road with our silver twinkie. We will be traveling from OR to the Villages Fl within the next few weeks. Does anyone know of any campgrounds around the area of the Villages, Leasburg?

I think you can stay here in Jacksonville Naval Air Station if space is available.
