One of the best isn't a book at all. It's the "Allstays" app for iPhone and Android. I use it regularly.

Another good resource is the "Corps Lakes Gateway" (www.CorpsLakes.us - Corps Lakes Gateway) which shows every Corps of Engineers lake and waterway project that has campgrounds and/or day use areas. One nice thing about it is, it doesn't just list Corps campgrounds, it also lists private and State campgrounds that are on the shore of a Corps lake. Since there are Corps campgrounds in 44 of our 50 states, you could travel the country and never stay anywhere else, if you wanted to.

I use Allstays app as well as OhRanger, and Campwhere. I also use Google maps when I am at home to preview places... Google images is great to search for what campgrounds might look like! Really depends on what kind of campgrounds you are looking for... if you want places with full hookups then many things are available.... if you are looking for more rustic places like National Forest Service sites then looking online at the various forest service areas can provide great information.

We use All Stays, and find, if anything, they are overly conservative with max length. I have stayed in some campgrounds with my 30 ft, no problems, where All Stays indicated a max length of 20 ft.
