Roadtrip advice to Jackson Center
We are planning a road trip April 20 thru the 29th.
Traveling from Rhode Island out Rt. 80 & 71 to Jackson Center for a service appointment on the 24th. Heading back east the 25th. Wondering if anyone has done this trip and can suggest any stops and itinerary?
Because its early in the season there doesn’t seem to be much open.

Not much time difference if you make a loop of it and drive one road on the way out and one road on the way back. Along that route you have a "north road" through western ny, and a south road through PA.
North side: I'd look at Cooperstown, Ithaca, Watkins Glen, and Corning NY. (If you're on the major highways, Rochester has LOTS to do, but that might be out of your way...)
South side: Hershey, Poconos, Amish Country.... and I'd also try to visit Fallingwater (Frank Lloyd Wright house) in Western PA.

Thanks- That is pretty much what we had thought ( including the Falling Waters visit)
Its looking like a southern route may be a little more pleasant weather wise.
Timing on the trip doesn't give us much time to hang out anywhere.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a must do bucket list item. It's in Cleveland, right on Lake Erie and beautiful. I've taken my 345 there twice. Parking is not a problem.

While getting your service done at Jackson Center or even extending and staying at the campground at Jackson Center, be sure to go to the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Covers the history of flight up to present day including an exhibit of all Air Force Ones. I was there 2 days and still didn't get it all visited. It's free and well worth it. It is located in Dayton, OH, just a short drive from Jackson Center.

Near the Frank Lloyd Wright home, "Falling Waters" is the 911 Memorial. Worth a visit.

I travel to Dublin Ohio every year for a festival. We have driven both ways. U can always stop a few hours at Canton, Football Hall of fame, little off track, but not much.

There are some decent places in and around Pittsburgh open all year. Both KOAs are "ok for the needs" as overnight stays. Rose Point Park Campground on the northern suburbs edge is worth a longer stay if you're traveling leisurely.

If you get near Cleveland we offer courtesy parking. Close to I 71 and about 3.5 hrs from JC.

I loved the tour through the factory! You can learn a lot about how they make 'em'

Near Jackson Center, in Wapakoneta is the Neil Armstrong space museum, just off of I 75. Well worth the time.

I'll second the Neil Armstrong Museum. What a nice and interesting place. It's not too far from the factory.

New Bremen is 18 miles west of Jackson Center on OH 274 (the road the AS Service Center fronts on). It is the headquarters of Crown Lift Trucks which is owned by the Dicke family. They have been pretty generous to this town of about 3,000--it's a nice looking town. Besides lift trucks at least one of the Dickes is interested in bicycles enough to have created the Bicycle Museum of America in New Bremen. If you have the slightest interest in bicycles this place, in about the most unlikely location imaginable, should not be missed, and it's free, donations accepted.
My preferred local bike store owner told me the museum purchased the entire Schwinn collection when the family went bankrupt. Or perhaps that was the beginning of the museum.
If you happen to be a Crown Lift Truck fan (!?) they have a Crown Gear (pens, caps, jackest, etc.) store across from the museum.
This a town Charles Kuralt should have found, but probably didn't.

That sounds like a great side trip.
I'm an avid cyclist, so this is right up my alley.
Thanks
