Putting the house on the market appears to be delayed because I'm playing with this. Who wants to buy a house before Xmas anyway?

Screen clarity is great. Maybe I'd better read the manual, although I finished the iPad book I got a couple of weeks ago. This is fun.

Find that app that lets you look at the stars, don't know what it's called. It uses the GPS to find where you are, you hold it up and it shows all the stars and constellations in front of you.

Have fun.

Now there's something I know how to do!

Before I can learn more about the iPad I have to research Medigap policies to find a cheaper premium … great fun.

Beogram 4000-something?

For many years I had an ADC Accutrac turntable... electronically controlled, even had an ultrasonic remote. Back when CDs were more expensive than LPs, it was going to cost me enough to replace 10 of my LPs with CDs just to find out if it was possible to repair it (never mind whether they could still get the boards and such.) The technician said I might have been the last man on earth to have one that worked.

Ran across a Sequerra Model 1 FM tuner not so long ago. As out of my price range today as it was in the 1973 when new, but with a lot less desire on my part to own one given what's available by broadcast.

F.I.RE. Finance, insurance, real estate . . the black hole with a cataloged name.

B&O Beogram 4004, jump back one era, no remotes,...my choice for the Last Turntable.
Werk's pretty gud, a little like "Coudspitter".

"Cloudsplitter" as in the ever-talented Russell Banks novel of John Brown? Yesterday marked the anniversary of his hanging.

From iPads to turntables (we have two ancient Duals packed away for decades) to John Brown. Meanwhile, it snowed this morning—4 1/2".

For John Brown fans a photo of the building—a firehouse—he was holed up in when captured (I think) at Harper's Ferry.

Certainly a more well known interpretation, but without the Silver.

B&O were good, as were Duals. Thorens were top end when I sold "Hi-fi"
There was a company (USA, I think) that had a turntable with an exotic wood tone arm to absorb any vibrations. Grado, I believe. That's the best I ever heard. I'd heard the Swiss now make the world's most expensive vacuum-tube ampflier, though I'd put it toe-to-toe with a McIntosh or Marantz. Any tube amp that can give Mac specs (I believe it was 1/2 percent distortion) is fine in my ear. Geez, I miss those days.

Early '70's: Heathkit receiver, 2 Advent speakers, Dual turntable, Sennheiser headphones (probably partly responsIble for midrange deafness), no TV.

Now, Airstream with Sony radio/CD/DVD player and bunch of unknown brand speakers with subwoofer turned off and Samsung HDTV. Boxes of 33's that I keep thinking about transferring to CD's—I hear CD's are out of date too (just like me).

And, an iPad to learn and thoughts of Santa Fe in January.

I have an iPad,Iphone and a verizon Mi-fi for on the road internet and they all work Great!
First of all get the wireless keyboard for the iPad it works well! I hook up speakers to the headphone jack and the sound is great. I use iTunes and make playlist for different things.
And checking out this forum is pretty cool too
