I forgot about this thread!
In the past year we found a new favorite place for an awesome Grouper sandwich! Anyone who is staying at at Ft DeSoto should take a quick trip to Dockside Daves in St Pete Beach. Great food, the people who own it and who work there are great and we would go out of our way to stop in!
The Key Lime pie is home made too! Do not miss this one...

We stopped at a farm stand in Vermont while roaming around in our Interstate this summer.
The farm stand is located in Westminster Vermont and is named Harlow Farm. Cafe Loco is located inside. Organic veggies from the farm in the little restaurant. A great place to stop. Harlowfarm.com They are closed in the winter but reopen in May!

Pappy's BBQ in Monahans, Texas. Super food, neat atmosphere. Family owned and operated. Great Texas-style BBQ. They have a big parking lot behind the store that's dirt, but plenty big for an AS and tow vehicle. Just go in slow.
It's a must stop on our trips. Monahans has only two exits off the highway-we used to stop for gas at one exit, I missed once, drove past Pappys, tried them, and have been hooked ever since...

Bailey's at the Parker's Crossroads exit on I-40 between Jackson and the Tennessee River gets a stop from me for the pie every time. Nicky's East in B'ham for the veggies.

If in Rhode Island go to Allies Donuts in North Kingstown. My Grandfather would grab a couple dozen donuts when he traveled to the mainland from his home on Block Island. A dozen is all i can take in a year nowadays.

Been there a few times myself. Also like the Crabby Bills down towards Bellaire Bluffs.

Oh my god... Allies donuts! We live about 10 miles from that place and thankfully I don't have occasion to drive that way very often or I'd weigh 300 pounds! I always get three of the honey dipped donuts and a small coffee when I do drive by and they are awesome!

World's Best Donuts, in Grand Marais, MN.
They sell them as fast as they can make them....the line starting at one end of this small shop, passing in front of the case, to the register, and out the other door.
Yum!
